Finally got my Sennheiser 580/DSP from Amazon...they rock.

I agree with keensyntax, these are the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. It's like putting a big pillow against your ear.

I had posted about the Radio Shack Pro35's on another forum-- www.3dsoundsurge.com, a site devoted to 3-D soundcards--and someone noticed that in the Koss catalog, the Koss KTX-Pro's have the same titanium driver, same cord-length, same volume slider, same headset--so they appear to be identical to the RS Pro35's. Then I found that Amazon is selling the KTX-Pro's for $15 apiece (also the SportaPro's at $18). The average review is 4 1/2 stars. Unlike RatShack, Koss 'phones have a lifetime warranty.

You probably know that Amazon has a $10 off $20 coupon through the end of July (see your choice of coupon-friendly sites, e.g., dealcatcher.com)--although I'm not positive that the coupon works with electronics. If it does, you could pick up _two_ KTX-Pro's for $20 + maybe $4 shipping. That's a crazy-good deal! Or find a couple of cheapie books (I know I got a Random House college edition dictionary for $0.99 from Amazon last month, deal posted from Anandtech) and get the SportaPro's for ten bucks.

If you like full-sized headphones, you might peruse the whole Koss lineup at Amazon, as some of their full-sized/highly-rated 'phones are still pretty cheap, even before $10 off.

Too bad about the coupon. But there are always Amazon deals popping up, so stay tuned to Anandtech, I guess.

About the current Amazon $10 off $20 coupon, can this be used with a _combo_ books/electronics order? I've ordered from several departments through Buy.com, and they give a single flat shipping fee, and any coupons apply to the entire order.

In other words, is there any way to piggyback Koss headphones onto an order that receives the $10 off? I'm curious to try the SportaPro's. Thanks.

Try it and see if it works. You'll find out before finalizing the order so no loss.

I picked up the Aiwa "air-filled" ear buds at Best Buy. Water or gel filled would've been cool, but at that price it was no surprise it was just a hollow silicon ring. They do fit nicely and the bass rocks. The treble, however, leaves a lot to be desired. It's not tinny like other earbuds, it just sounds like someone turned down the treble all the way on an equalizer. They sound great when I hook it up to my SBLive and turn up the treble, but I don't have that option with my portable MiniDisc, CD, and MP3 players. And I have studio monitor headphones when I plan to be stationed in front of my computer anyways.
So, if you're all about bass and have been avoiding earbuds, these will suit you just fine. I personally don't know what to do with them.
