a breakup can really tear you up..but you have to hang in there...life does get better eventually.

on another note though, suicide is extremely selfish.
I understand that completely, it has been what keeps me going. I know I have several people in the world that love me.
Having people love you isn't enough to motivate you to want to do things though. I really don't feel like doing anything at all recently.
I don't want to see friends, I don't want to engage in any hobbies. Nothing. This recent stint of mine has been the longest and enduring it
has been utterly horrible for me. I think about doing it daily and just about the only thing stopping me is the people I love most would be hurt deeply.
It has been bad enough making them watch me do nothing and worrying about me.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Where are you in life? PM me if you like

I'm sorry to hear that... hope that the ones he leaves behind can understand rather than feel guilt or blame...

The problem for who? They won't be there to care. Anyone who says no problem is worth dying for is blind.

True, but breaking up with your girlfriend certainly is no reason.

I didn't say it was, I said explicity that I disagreed with the statement that 'there is no good reason'

I doubt suicide is selfish.

Selfish is thinking the biggest effect of someone deciding to end their own life has a bigger effect on you than them.
It also doesnt make the problems 10x worse. The problem is solved for the person.

I dont condone suicide, but I certainly understand why someone would...

Suicide is the end. At the time that sounds like a good idea ... but there is always a future and if you get the chance to look back from that future, you'll be horrified that you ever even considered it. It's hard to have that perspective when you're in that place, impossible to imagine the future that will be ... but it's true. Trust me on this one.

thats really sad. suicide is the worst, and it hurts his friends/family too. think about how bad it must have been to force someone to take their own life. sure its never the right decision, but sometimes... people are just so pressured, and it sucks. :(

I'm sorry bro. I had a classmate put a shotgun in his mouth about a year or so ago. I didn't know him very well, but still, it feels so empty. :( :(

I wish you and your entire class the best of luck with this. It's a very sad thing. :(
I wish I could articulate my feelings better, but I can't. Sucks.

:( :(

Everyone seems to be taking it quite well so far. The shock of the entire incident is still settling in.

It is just so close to the end of the year. We have prom tomorrow night (hopefully it won't be too sad), we have the first day of finals next friday. We graduate the 14th....so very close, but now so far.

It is so sad to think about how many other people feel the same thing. This is a way out of problems that is all too popular in today's world. I talked to a girl I know in houston, and she said they have someone committ suicide every year. It's just so horrible and so devistating. Thank you all for the support.

UPDATE: It appears he also left a note. :(

My condolances. A classmate of mine killed herself our Senior year. The whole Senior class (400+) took it pretty hard.

That's right. Although suicide is the easy way out, you can't regret it later. Nobody I have ever known has regretted not killing themselves later, when telling me that they've thought of it here and there.
