Name one Senator in Kennedy's position, both now and in 2004, that would do the exact same thing. If my state elected another Democratic governor and Jeff Sessions were diagnosed with Leukemia, you bet your ass he would do everything possible to ensure that another Republican is appointed in his stead. I don't think we have the problem of a gap as our governor can appoint temporary replacements, but you get the idea. (and no, I'm not linking to that replacement clause. Our constitution sucks donkey balls by being the most convoluted tl;dr pos from sea to shining sea)

Kennedy is the reason they don't have that provision. He successfully lobbied to have it removed in 2004 so the Republican Governor would not be able to replace Kerry had he won.

They basically want to keep changing the rules depending upon who is playing. Its cheating no matter how you slice it but, as has already been mentioned, most people here are perfectly fine with cheating (depending on whose side your on and who is doing the cheating of course).

Laura Bush ran a red light and killed a man. No one knows about this however because the media never reported it.

Kennedy = 1
Laura = 1

What's your point?

And the circumstances of those 2 deaths aren't even remotely similar. I'm patiently waiting for the day where ZeGermans has an epic meltdown which finally gets him permabanned.

While that is tempting, I think we should keep him around as an example of what we are up against.

There are plenty of other wanna-be idiots that are big blowhards when they do not have to have any accountability. We do not need additional ones that want the benefits but none of the responsibilities.

When they actually have to meet the real world, they will find life to be very disappointed unless they move to a climate where responsibility is unknown by people.
