If during the RNC Cheney came forward and stepped down as the VP due to the health problems, and nominated John McCain to run as VP...
how would that affect your vote?

Wouldn't affect my vote one bit. Plus I don't think McCain would debase himself enough to want to serve under Dubya.

i dunno.. you know he wants to run for president still.. this would be the ideal scenario to set him up for the Republican Nominee in 2008...

In endorsing Bush's re-election, McCain has sold out to the very people who smeared and trashed him in the last presidential primary and the same people who are behind the bullsh8 NOT SO Swift Boat Vet smear campaign he condemned as "dishonest and dishonorable."

Until now, I've respected McCain, even when I disagree with him on specific issues, but this casts a long shadow of doubt on McCain's personal integrity. If he were truly honest, for this presidential campaign, he would just STFU. :frown:

I wrote McCain to tell him this.

Well actually recently McCain has denounced bushs attacks on Kerrys vietnam record. McCain is one of the few republicans hat i have some respect for, and I sincerely hope he doesnt get involved in the election.

Too late. :)

If McCainwas the vpcandidate I wouldn't be so outspokenly vehement against bush, but I'd still vote for Kerry.

He avoided the ultimate debasement when he let it be known that he would not run as Kerry's VP. He's probably still wondering what he had done that was so wrong that they were even considering asking him.

I still wouldn't vote for Bush...my biggest problem is with Ashcroft and Rumsfeld...if he got rid of those guys too, I'd consider it.

Being that I'm from Missouri, I had first-hand knowledge of Ashcroft... If I had known he was going to become AG, I would've voted him in as Senator. Better damage control that way.

No, I just felt that anybody was better than Ashcroft as Senator and he was a terrible governor. Plus, Jean Carnahan had been an active person in Jefferson City and involved with a lot of issues, so she wasn't a "flowerpot" wife. If she had run instead of her husband (without the tragic death), I would've still voted for her over Ashcroft.

I really don't undertand the hardon for McCain that some in this forum have. His claim to fame is a horribly failed Campaign Finance Reform bill that has reformed NOTHING. I do not want him as President..

McCain also has a black negro love child! We can never have one who succumbs to the sin of interracial sex in the halls of power!

You'd have to throw in Karl "Bush's brain" Rove in the trash pile for me to give it a second thought, in addition to replacing Cheny with McCain.

Isn't Ashcroft the one who lost out to a dead guy?

don't think it'd ever happen.

going from a well-established senator to VP is kind of like a demotion, unless the RNC is planning on pimping out McCain for an '08 presidency run, which I somehow doubt.
