Like how you, e-tech, charrison and Amused One said that the US were just saber rattling before the war?

Yeah, you admit your mistakes.

If you were one tenth as smart you would have thought up a better response... It wasn't even witty...

Small men uses the big words, of that you are all the proof neccessary.

Yeah, you're two posts in this thread are the very epitome of wit and intelligence. I'm thinking about printing them out and putting them in a scrap book.

You DO have some wit after all, too late though.

Better luck next time. 😉

You have yet to show either and luck isn't going to help you.

Do you ever say anything relevant to the thread you are in?

Or are you just looking for some cheese to go with your whine? 😉

Michael,

As I said to John, you can go ahead and assume I am uneducated. It has no bearing on my arguments. So please, assume someone that JohnG has more education. And I'd love to tell you my degrees in another context. But I want you to learn that it has nothing to do with someone's argument.

"Again, you calling something a "logical fallacy" does not make it so. "
You do not understand what a logical fallacy is. If you're unwilling to learn I can't help you anymore.

"He offered up his degree as evidence that his analysis is not shallow. He made the counter claim that it is your analysis that is shallow. "
A degree is not evidence that analysis is not shallow! Someone with a PHD is perfectly capable of making shallow analysis.

"Although him having the degree does not prove that he did not engage in shallow analysis,"
Okay, you're starting to understand.

"the depth of the analysis is subjective and academic credentials would lay some weight behind his assertion that he did not engage in shallow analysis."
Ah, you still don't understand. You can have a degree and still make shallow analysis in a specific case! One has nothing to do with the other.

Infohawk - I think you're the one with a definition problem on logical fallacy. Your high school level debating tactics are a poor recourse when engaging in adult discussions.

Michael

Michael, now you are engagin in ad hominem. Hence you're argument is baseless. Why don't you try addressing the issue instead of addressing me.

http://www.datanation.com/fallacies/

One can be a total idiot and be right when they say 1+1 = 2. If an idiot says 1+1=3, they are not wrong because they are an idiot, they are wrong because 1 + 1 = 2

Michael, many universities and logicians deal with logical fallacies. It is a not a highschool-only topic.

(forgot the not)

dont even bother with johngalt, i pm'ed him about the degree and got another one of his joke pics:

Degree

the guy probably read one of those ayn rand wannabes that thinks he has a free license to use johngalt all over the internet and actually now believes he has a degree in public policy. he thinks that using by using the moniker "johngalt" that most likely educated people who know what johngalt is will give him instant respect. and now a big swinging dk claim about his education is just another cry for help and ego massaging! (by the way, i dont think that education has anything to do with the contents of these posts, this is just a present a topic, speak your mind forum, we're not setting any type of policy here, although some here seem to have come to that assumtion 🙂)

Infohawk - Maybe I should use smaller words.

You claimed that the analysis was shallow. Shallow is subjective, it is not 1+1=2.

I would accept a degree in the subject (work experience or something similar) as a counter-argument to the "shallow" assertion.

You are right that a degree in math doesn't make 1+1=3. However, a degree in Public Policy does give a strong indication that the analysis of what it would take to make a draft not happen is not "shallow".

You have not proved your assertion that the analysis was shallow and made a counter claim of having better educational credentials and then refuse to prove it after you offered them up.

Michael

"Maybe I should use smaller words."
They're already simple enough, thanks.

"You claimed that the analysis was shallow. Shallow is subjective, it is not 1+1=2." "You have not proved your assertion that the analysis was shallow and made a counter claim of having better educational credentials and then refuse to prove it after you offered them up. "
You know what? I was wrong. His analysis was not shallow, it was nonexistant!

"However, a degree in Public Policy does give a strong indication that the analysis of what it would take to make a draft not happen is not "shallow". "
No, it does not. At most it raises the probability that the poster will make a non-shallow argument.

Zephyr, please try and be more descriptive. Wha kind of thread do you feel this is? One wear logical fallacies are being pointed out?

Who where you before you got banned?

I have never been banned. My profile goes back a couple years. In any case, my posting record has nothing to do with the subject of this thread. I remind you, the draft is a good idea because it will force neocons "to put their money where their mouth is."

Getting back on topic, albeit momentarily, I saw Chuck Hegel backtracking on Lou Dobbs this evening. Yes, he personally apologized to Bush and UltraQuiet for proposing the renewal of the draft. His letter of apology to the Chief of Naval Personnel will follow shortly, I'm sure. 🙂 Let's hope he shares with UQ at their daily repast.

Bwuahahahahahaha! Oh, God, I love this place....

Sure you did. Now pull your pants up, liar.

Burnedout:

Thanks for that.

Now, given Rumsfeld's passion for clarity, and his consistent honesty, exactly what does his pronouncement mean? 🙂

Burnedout:

You can prove anything with numbers. Stars and Stripes, I believe (I read it at the VA last week), had an article that re-enlistments were down over last year. So, now the Pentagon says re-enlistments exceed their "expectations"? Bwuahahahahaha! Ok. Thanks for that bit of NEWSPEAK Donald.

These guys at the top of the Pentagon are almost never telling the truth. Why is that so hard for you guys to believe? Go back and read some of the statements by our revisionist friend Robert S. McNamera. Talk about lieing sacks of merde....

-Robert

I was a career "lifer", just like you. So yes, I'm fully aware that the Pentagon files newsreleases which are generally considered as "favorable".

Having said as much, unless some dramatic shift in present policy emerges, there is enough evidence to suggest that a draft won't be happening soon.
