But Republicans managed to find 12. That number is in itself so ludicrous only a brain dead, brain washed, dead from the neck up American would not assume that the fix is not on as to which votes were contested.
I think we should just follow Federal precedent and stop the re-count. It worked for Bush.

Actually, there are possibly more than 130 in question. There's also an issue with a poll worker that wasn't even in the state on the elecetion day, but she was paid *and* her signature appeared on the form certifying the precinct votes.

Oh, yeah, don't forget about the people that voted in the precinct based on their address at an apartment complex that had been torn down in February 2004 - that would be easy to miss if 4 out of the five precinct workers hadn't been former residents of that very same apartment complex.

Maybe the R's should have bitched before the election.

I'm sure that if they could see into the future, they would have. This happened on *election day*.

The only fraud that happened on election day was a forged siginitures everything else should have been raised months before hand. ie the apartment building get torn down.

Were it not for the election, the apartment building issue probably would have never come to light...not something the system or the bureaucracy would catch unless an election was already under scrutiny.

And the republicians should have complained before the election because there is no way to establish if tehre was any fraudilent votes and for which canidate they voted.

Ohio has nothing to do with this as there was no voter fraud there.

There were more than enough fraud votes found that could have turned the election in favor of Ford, so she's in the process of being ousted. So now we're finally cracking down on voter fraud and people are actually complaining?

But the votes could be for against ford. Rejecting the results of an election you don't like isn't cracking down on voter fraud.

Dead people voting for state senator D-Tennessee who won the election by 12 votes.

In Ford's election, at a minimum, six votes are questionable: two attributed to dead people and four to convicted felons.

Roland and Republicans say there are far more, including 40 ballots cast by people living outside the district and another 60 voters who failed to sign ballot applications properly. And they cited newspaper reports in Memphis that 31 other votes are in question because an election worker's signature was forged.

"It's about racism. It's about 'Jim Crow'-ism," Ford said after the vote. "I'm black. It is 85% black vote in that district, District 29. They want this seat." She may file a federal lawsuit over the ouster, she said.

Always have to play that race card.

She's black?!!?!

What a troll. RIP, is that you?

Interesting how the whole thing is based on jumping to the conclusion that the alleged irregular votes were in favor of the winner, when actual evidence in support of that conclusion is non-existent, by definition...

If that is truly the case, Ms. Ford shouldn't have anything to worry about, right? Just have another election, and she'll win again.

Might want to read the article, Fuzzy Bee- there won't be another election- if ousted, Ford's successor will be an appointee... can't imagine which party... Repubs wouldn't have started this ruckus if that part of it wasn't already in the bag...

...actually NO. Memphis is a HEAVY DEMOCRAT area and the appointed selector will probably be a democrat. Just the fact that the vote is this close is amazing but maybe it has something to do with the fact that her brother is joing to jail for a long time for getting caught in an FBI sting for taking tens of thousands of dollars in bribes.

Ford is also an easier target because of this...not exactly a stretch of logic to assume that corruption runs in the family.

Interesting that the guy in charge at the polling place in question isn't even an eligible voter himself (he's a convicted felon), *and* that he works for the Ford Funeral Home.

it would be a got-damn miracle if anyone was just happy that those who are manipulating the system have been caught rather than pointing the finger across the aisle and screaming "this is what they do!"

Yet, surprisingly, not one Republican vote is being questioned.
Proof of Republican election rigging.

LOL!!!

When presented with evidence of Democratic voter fraud, you call it "proof of Republican election rigging." Think about that for a second, moron.
