I want to see Obama get on national TV holding up the bill and say to the American people:
Such grandstanding would do nothing but confirm him to be a pompous ass.
I want to see Obama get on national TV holding up the bill and say to the American people:
Surely that's the intent with this push before the election. I thought the R's were going to sidestep the punch after Boehner's comments Sunday, but it's good to see McConnell and the rest step right into it. I was almost in a full-blown mental crisis, my perception of reality shaken to the core, when it looked the R's might actually play ball on this.
Kudos to the republicans for standing up to the usual class warfare arguments (even though it's probably for the wrong reasons, political personal gain). "hey, they are rich, they don't deserve to keep the same tax cuts the rest of the population should get! Get your torches and pitchforks!". The republicans need to hold the democrat's feet to the fire: extend the tax cuts for all, or face the wrath of the population for raising everyone's taxes during an economic depression.
For the record, I don't make anywhere near $250k, so raising taxes on that group does not impact me. That doesn't make it right, so I'm 100% against it.
Didn't stop the Republicans from doing it with the HCR bill.Such grandstanding would do nothing but confirm him to be a pompous ass.
So you can hope all you want, but I bet the D's get blamed if everyone's taxes go up.
and they will campaign on how the D's "raised everyone's taxes"
Didn't stop the Republicans from doing it with the HCR bill.

So you are willing to pay more because of it though? Good for you. Maybe you can pay my extra share too as I am not. I don't give a fuck who pays more as long as I pay less and yes, I'm Goddamn serious.
I want to see Obama get on national TV holding up the bill and say to the American people:
Well, at least that's honestI know when times are tough, it's easy to think "hey, that impacts someone else, not me, screw them", but the principle of the matter is that taxes should not be getting raised right now -- on anyone. Either keep the cuts for all, or make everyone pay more. If that means we all pay more, so be it, and I'll be sure to take it out on the party in government that does it.
I'm preparing for Mexico. Where 10% lives well and 90% in misery and destitution. I already live in a "gated" compound. I already know day and night captain of local PD personally as in hunt fish and play golf w/ them. All that's left is bullet proofing cars when rabble gets exited. No big deal I'm handy. Americans are too stupid for anything else.
Such grandstanding would do nothing but confirm him to be a pompous ass.
Fuck that. If 97% can keep the cuts vs 0% keeping the cuts, that's bunch of shit. As I said above, it the R's blocking my (and 96.99999999999%) of the rest of us tax cut (assuming it is brought to a bill by the Dems).
I'm a CEO....of me. It's my job to the best and make the most for my company...ME Inc.
I suspect Dems are waiting to get the timing right, so that the message is nice and fresh when voters step into the booth, but we'll see...
Hardly. It would confirm that he's fed up with repubs, and that he's ready to play hardball politics.
In Obama's place, Cheney wouldn't hesitate for a nanosecond...
Using your logic, you'd be fine then with saying "everyone gets a tax cut, except people who drive toyotas, their taxes are doubling". Since I don't drive a toyota, it wouldn't impact me, so sure, why not, right? Of course not. It makes no sense to raise people's taxes right now, and any tax raise will be (and should be) attributed to the party in full power of the house, senate and white house, none of this "the dog ate my homework or the republicans wouldn't cooperate with us" bullshit excuses.
Sure thing. I'm sure the republicans would not counter with their own adds etc, and given the current polls and general sentiment, who do you think the public will blame for stupid things happening in DC? I'm guessing those in power will be blamed (D's).
But of course!!!

What else are you going to do as a republican except look out for #1 right?
Let's see:
1) Me Me Me
2) Money Money Money
3) Religion is good
4) Atheists BAD
5) No taxes 'cuz I deserve it ALL bitches
.
.
.
What DID I MISS about Republicans?
Remind me again, which party is in the white house, controls the senate and controls the house? Oh yeah, that's right. Well guess what, they are the ones I'm going to blame when everyone's taxes go up. It's that simple. They're trying to play the class warfare game against the supposed "rich", then they should get the blame when the thing backfires and everyone's taxes go up.
Oh, you'd better believe it, and rightfully so.
A couple making $125k is "wealthy"? lol fucking idiots.
Let's see:
1) Me Me Me
2) Money Money Money
3) Religion is bad, except Islam
4) Atheists GOOD.
5) Raise taxes 'cuz somebody else deserves it ALL bitches
If you don't think the top 2% is wealthy, you're the fucking idiot.
What next, top 2% IQ isn't intelligent? Top 2% weight isn't fat? LOLZ
This time the gridlock works against the GOP.
The Bush tax cuts for everyone are due to sunset soon.
Either the GOP gives up on the tax cuts for the under 250K/yr set to get tax cuts for the under 250K/yr set, or they face an Obama veto which gives no one a tax cut.
And unless the GOP takes 2/3'rd of the House and Senate, they can't over ride the Obama veto.
If Obama had some backbone, he should stand firm on not extending the Bush tax cuts for the over 250K/yr. set and let the public wrath fall on the GOP. If the GOP wants to champion policies that benefit only one to two percent of the population, the GOP will start getting only one or two percent of the voting public.
