Science says anyone who keeps repeating the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again is a batshit insane lunatic.

My Dear Matt, had you an ounce of capacity for self reflection or humility and hadn't allowed the perspicacity of Moonbeam to get so far up your ass he can move your lips, you would have perhaps realized several things:

One is that for a fool, the evidence of his state is constantly presented to him because it is who he is and secondly that he is sensitive and reacts to just those truths that are most true of him, and also thirdly that he will deny over and over and over and over again, like a bat-shit insane lunatic, these truths every time he is presented with them. And finally he may even announce to the world a fantastically conceived universe in which the above truths which have been repeated over and over and over again as the facts adduced by real science in the real universe, do not apply in his fantasy world via the creation of a new science of his own invention which posits the notion that truth presented over and over again can be falsified by denial repeated over and over and over again by some like some bat-shit insane lunatic.

You see, My Dear Matt, no matter how many times you repeat the fact that I repeatedly announce the scientific findings regarding conservative rationalizations, your repetition of the fact that I repeatedly remind you that what I say has been scientifically peer reviewed won't make what you deny over and over true. The facts are, as I have repeatedly told you that you are in denial and you deny it over and over again, just as the science predicts.

Of course you will understand nothing of this any more than a fish on a hook understands what is happening to him. I live in your darkness, My Dear Matt, and see the glorious things you call monsters because you can't see what they really are. What you fear is fear itself. Please come in, the water is fine. You don't really have to make an ass of yourself over and over and over again.

Do you remember Matt, when you were a kid and used to make faces in the mirror and laugh your ass off? I still do that a lot. And I can still see that face looking back at me. I was a beautiful child. I bet you were too.

It must be hell on your psyche to reach to the very depths of your soul and come up with you feel is very profound postings and have everyone refer to it as repetitive psychobabble.

You assume for yourself an unimportance you do not have. You may be hopeless because that's how you feel, but I know there is hope unseen. How profound I am is invisible to you but not to me and there's nothing you can do about it.

I offer you mountains of change. Don't settle for your farts.

LOL

Back on topic:

The Senate has been useless for years now. This will not fix that, time will tell if it makes it worse.

We are so far from the representative government that our founders wanted. Our voices mean nothing, actually less than nothing. Our voices are interruptions to their business. If we weren't around their jobs would be so much easier.

Until we get real people and not special interest puppets in office, DC will continue to ignore our needs and disregard the future of the country. We are screwed.

Indeed, so why do you ever talk about anything else. Either the Democrats put judges in office that will reverse the notion that money is speech or we will have to have a Constitutional convention to force it ourselves. I see no other hope. I believe a Democratic sweep will come before a convention so I put my hope in that. If that fails going back to Republican rule will be empty hope and only a revolution of the people can prevail. The problem, as I see it, is to identify the real problem, the fact that the wealthy set the rules that benefit them in the short run before they move to other countries when they have completely soiled the bed they made here. We will have a government that acts on the best interests of the people, we will figure out what such a government is, or we will not. If you don't believe that the logic of reality can't be comprehended better by liberals than conservatives, you are free to offer me scientific studies that support your point of view.

We are talking about degrees of difference, odds, not certainty. The odds are better with Democrats than Republicans or third party and better that change will come from within the system than by Constitutional convention. These are the facts as I see them. I can only offer what I believe. I function on the level of persuasion, not on the level of force. My joy comes from within. Matt and others fear how I think because they are control freaks. They can only feel same in a world that thinks like them, a world that can never exist. There will always be somebody more terrified of difference than they are that will seek to destroy what they believe. All I can do is to try to warn such minds that they are all struggling to take control of the one ring. That is the road of the ego. Mine died is a great battle with the Nothing a battle I fought to the bitter end because I didn't know that winning was losing. I am a loser, you see. Hehehehehehehe

Our founders made a representative democracy that didn't count millions of enslaved people and allowed many states to require people to own property in order to vote. Exactly what kind of representative democracy do you think they wanted? I'm genuinely curious.

If the Democrats didn't build their platform on handing out increasing numbers of freebies to voting blocks, if they didn't build their support by dividing this country into groups pitting just enough against the others to win elections - I could support them.

But as they are, the Democrats are not this beacon of warm fuzzy greatness you seem to believe them to be, and it's not because I'm not hoping hard enough for them to be wondrously benevolent leaders.

Think of it this way if you like. There are two piles of shit, one of them bigger than the other.

Democrats, progressive Democrats especially are more favorable to laws that help the majority of people than Republicans are. There are Democrats that want campaign finance reform. They want big money out of politics but take it to get elected. If they didn't face the constant stress of raising enough money to win, they would be much more likely to change the rules. Nobody who wins when competition is tough, wants to change the rules. When you say the country is divided, remember that one present has 80% of the money. I'm sorry, but I really don't believe that one percent of the population here is 80% more capable than the other 99%. I believe that division was rigged by them. You are simply worried about things their propaganda they had the money to feed you.

So, to summarize, Democrats wouldn't be shit sandwiches if they could just run unopposed?

And there are some Republicans who want big money out of campaigns. There are some Republicans who are favorable to laws that help the majority of people, as opposed to laws which are favorable to the majority of voting blocks needed to win elections.

I look at it as "There are two piles of shit, therefore I don't want one to dominate over the other. Competition between the shit is what forces them to pay even the slightest attention to the general population."

I re-read the end of your comments, which don't make a whole lot of sense, your mind is one of the most closed-off minds towards other people's points of view. You seek to understand people based on a preconceived notion that "they are wrong" and you never once question that belief that forms the bulk of your views. And you believe this makes you the better person. "All I need to do is explain myself in the proper way and everyone will agree I am right." I've argued with another user who no longer visits this forum, many times over "progressive democrats" and it is damn convenient that every individual gets to arbitrarily label who is a progressive and who is not, and it basically goes: "A progressive Democrat is the one who agrees with all of my own views." Well, then there is the group of honest progressives, and fake progressives. Convenient, isn't it? You get to define a group of people you support, who may or may not even exist in the real world. Yet you want them to win, and rely on hoping enough that those who win are honest progressives and not fake progressives.

You really don't have a basis to say the progressives in power are the progressives your mind hopes they are. I've known enough from this forum to not engage you in a lengthy argument because it never goes anywhere. So, goodbye, and have yourself a good holiday break.

Dictator Obama has declared it from on High. How dare Republicans get uppity? This will just make it harder and harder to pass legislation in the House!

the way checks and balances were suppose to be:
president, house, and senate all negotiate to pass a bill. to override a presidential veto takes 67votes.
the minority party in both the house and senate are powerless. all they can do is bitch and moan.

then someone idiot came up w/the bright idea of needing a supermajority of 60votes to do anything in the Senate. but to prevent it from being abused, you must spend time + energy to talk and talk on the senate floor.
that way the person who fillabusters has a mental and physical cost.

then in the 21st century, some bigger idiot had the idea of just saying fillabuster means the bill is fillabustered. abuses galore follows.

go back to the old ways of either making the minority party powerless in the senate like they are in the House. or have some senator of the minority party pay the physical cost by keep talking on the senate floor to fillabuster.

yes/no?

That I agree with. I don't think the filibuster should have ever gotten to the point that it was used. Some asshole or group of assholes should have to actually stand up and continually argue against whatever they disagree with in order to filibuster. With modern travel and the amount of assholes usually in agreement with the filibuster this wouldn't even be all THAT hard, they could take friggen 6 hour shifts and never miss a meal or sleep.

We aren't talking facts but probabilities. Scientific data doesn't peg liberals as totally rational or conservatives as totally irrational, only that the probabilities of rational thinking are higher with liberals than conservatives. That's it and there are caveats to that such as when facing external threat. There a fear response may more likely actually be rational with liberals undervaluing the potential of actual danger. According to the science, anyway.....

Anyone else see politicians speaking on TV and feel like it's out of a movie? They are just so out of touch it's almost unreal. I don't identify with either party, but democrats, and republicans(and politics in general) are a complete joke. It's a giant mockery of a democracy. I don't have any solutions, but I hope someone does.

That was some profound evidence you gave there. Of course, you didn't have much alternative than to try to deride. It's all you've got in the way of logic I guess.

The one who is infamous for repeating the same thing over and over again thinks others have limited logic? That's a hoot.

Now now now, you have a brain defect and can't figure out that I don't tell you the same thing over and over. I just tell you what you are doing every time you do it. The source of the repetition is you and you just did it again. You see the world through your brain defect and it's always the same fucked up color. You can't help yourself because you have no humility or shame. Pride goeth before a fall, so your in for an amazing trip. Not to worry, though, I'll catch you when I can.
