Not to get back on topic or anything unusual like that ...

McCain's campaign put out a release saying it's a better plan than what the BHO campaign put out (Check your tire pressure lately?, hmmmmmmmm?)

No response yet from the BHO Batch.

You realize that the tire pressure thing is a really good idea, right? That it would provide us with a way larger decrease in consumption then drilling would provide as an increase in production?

I mean sure that's not going to solve our problems alone, but Obama never said that. It's strange that the RNC is trying so hard to mock something that's a smart thing to do.

You realize that most cars have properly inflated tires? (How do I know they do? How do you (or BHO) know they know they don't?)

You realize that there's no flippin' way to even guess how many cars need a few more pounds of pressure?

You realize that overinflated tires are also bad, at least from a user cost perspective.

You *must* realize how incredibly LAME this is as a stand-alone proposal?

You realize how stupid it makes you look to support this miserable piece o' sh!t Chicago politician and his truly lame proposals??

Too much Hopium ... y'all are in for a big surprise.

I said it before, I'll say it again, without even actively looking I see numerous cars on the road with under-inflated tires. Over-inflated tires actually provide better mileage, but are less safe and will wear sooner.
Don't think that your miserable piece o' shit candidate is any better, he's just a different flavor of shit ;)

Perhaps not, but they do go to Jiffy Lubes, gas stations, dealers, and corner repair shops ... many / most / all of which check tire pressure as part of their standard customer service (looking for something else they can charge you to fix).

An estimated four out of ten vehicles on the road have at least one under-inflated tire.

Estimated by who? and for where?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Are they a reliable enough source for you, or are they over-run with loony lefties?

BTW: I don't see alt energy as a conservation effort, I see it as a replacement to oil/gas

That's pretty much a semantics argument, by using alternate energy we're conserving oil/gas. AFAIK, we don't have anything that will completely replace some industrial uses for it.

I understand that, but I don't believe conservation measures such as lowering your thermostat, inflating tires etc should be confused with alt energy. 2 things vastly different and not just semantics IMO.

The fact that you think it is a stand alone proposal just shows that you haven't even taken the small amount of time to learn about this issue before posting. How hard is it to read about a subject and at least make a passing attempt to understand it before opening your mouth?

And again, the point that all of the Obama fools are ignoring is the fact that Obama is suggesting properly inflating your tires INSTEAD of drilling. This is not an either or situation. It is possible for people to properly inflate their tires, and for us to increase drilling. No one is suggesting that you should NOT properly inflate your tires, as some of you seem to be trying to say.

Bullshit to the bolded. If not, then why is the McCain campaign sending tire gauges out in jest of Obama's comments?

Bull true, actually:

Sen. McCain mocked what his campaign dubbed the "Air In Our Tires" proposal. "He suggested we put air in our tires to save on gas," Sen. McCain said. "My friends, let's do that, but do you think that's enough to break our dependence on foreign oil? I don't think so."

IMO the comment Obama made is pointing out that proper tire inflation is going to save more oil than what drilling now is going to save in the future. IOW, not much. This is political pandering and nothing more.

My comment was in response to your 'magical tire fairies'. My wife started driving < 1 year ago and it took her all of 1 time to learn how to check the tire pressure and inflate them.

Ok, I'll say it one more time, it's because Obama is suggesting that we should properly inflate our tires INSTEAD of drilling for more oil. He is making fun of Obama's stupid comment, if you truly think that McCain is suggesting that we should not keep our tires properly inflated then I don't know what to tell you...

I'll repeat what I said above... IMO the comment Obama made is pointing out that proper tire inflation is going to save more oil than what drilling now is going to save in the future. IOW, not much. This is political pandering and nothing more.

Gas prices are high. Gas prices are going to be high. Better get used to it.

Edit: Messed up quotes again

It depends how highly you rank on the Scale of Partisan Hackery.

Ok... you have to click the link. Her energy plan is better than most of the people we have in Washington. Scary.

If she releases another sexy video that is not shot in the dark and I might even vote for her.

Right. Ahmadinejad would be whistling a whole 'nother tune after the new POTUS blows him live on CNN.

Funny thing is, this proves any idiot can sound smart when reading a scripted response, not just Obama.

what about the idiots that sound like idiots even when reading a scripted response?
Good point. She is a moron but she read that much better than Bush has ever read anything.

Her energy policy is the same one pragmatists have touted for a while now.
dull criticisms of him
That hasn't worked so well.

They spent several HOURS filming a less than 3 minute clip.

It is alot easier to tape something than it is to do something live.

Even Obama has screwed up several times when speaking live.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned McCain's flip flop on tire pressure-just yesterday he unconditionally agreed that Senator Obama was correct in asserting proper tire inflation would substantially help gas mileage. I guess he got enough mileage out of his patently false mocking a correct statement of fact, plus he now has to face a revitalized Paris Hilton (who anyone would concede is hotter than Ron Paul and Ralph Nader, combined).

One thing I find interesting is that neither one has mentioned reducing the speed limit, or at least having people make the pretense of obeying it. This would also save an enormous amount of oil, but it would tick off a lot of voters.
