Hey Bro,

Ill bet even you wouldnt vote for Ted Kennedy. ;)

BTW, I grew up about 12 miles from where MJ Kopecne did and at about the same time.

Hey, Red, ANS has lost a lot of weight. Too bad it wasnt all Teddy. :D She is still her though, no matter how she looks.

A bit off topic but the President has been called ultra-conservative, socialist, stupid, deceptive, unilateralist, and multilateralist by the left-leaning crowd on this board. Now, which one is it?

Haven't you said that you are a Democrat Dari? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Those may be "issues" but so is "credibility" and 'Ol swimmer has none which this particular "issue" is about. Him criticizing anyone on "credibility" carries about as much weight as Ron Jeremy criticizing someone on sexual promiscuity.

But "'Ol swimmer," as you so tastelessly put it, isn't running for President. 'Ol Boozer/Snorter/AWOLer' is (since you're OK with labeling people according to things they did decades ago). Kennedy's credibility does not impair his ability to accurately point out Bush-lite's lack of credibility. One doesn't have to be a concert pianist to realize someone else's playing sucks.

Ah, so it since 'Ol swimmer isn't running for President his credibility can't be questioned when he's the one yapping about credibility?
Right...

Anyway - an crappy pianist saying someone else's playing is crappy holds little weight;) Just like if Ron Jeremy was complaining about Promiscuity.:D

Right, every music critic is a concert pianist. Cadidicy!

One politician('Ol swimmer) with zero credibility trying to lecture another politician(Bush) about credibility. But I see where you wouldn't understand that.

Well, if either of these two runs for President, I will make sure to vote for neither.

Kennedy was guilty of:

vehicular homicide in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne.
He was guilty of leaving the scene of an accident (pleaded guilty)
He was guilty of operating a motor vehicle without a valid drivers license (Kennedy friends "fixed" the driver's license problem").
He was probably guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol (by not showing up for a day after the event, he "fixed" this problem).

according to the State of Massachusetts (linky)
the penalty just for the vehicular homicide would range from 30 days in jail up to 15 years, depending on the detailss. recall, he did not have a valid drivers license (at the time of the accident), he had numerous prior citations for reckless driving (which curiously were not on the record in Massachusets, and Kennedy did not appear inclined to tell the Judge about), he left the scene of the accident. and he very likely was drunk (he had consumed AT LEAST 6 rum and cokes and 2 beers over a period of a few hours prior to the accident). This might well have qualified him for a more serious penalty than the "2 months sentence, suspended" - essentially, no jail time that he got.

Lets just entirely forget for the moment his crowning achievement of getting expelled from Harvard for having SOMEONE ELSE show up to take a Spanish test for him...

Another favorite moment I recall was when Kennedy was debating Mitt Romney during a Senate race, Kennedy was ranting about universal health insurance, when Romney asked Kennedy about the hundreds of employees of the Chicago Merchandise Mart - the largest commercial building in the world, owned by the Kenndy's. Apparently, at the time, the Chicago Merchandise Mart did not offer health insurance to it's employees! That's rich beyond words as well!

reminds me of the classic joke -
good news, bad news..

good news, Kennedy is retiring from the Senate..
bad news, he's joining the law firm or Whiner, Diner, Dicker and Dunker....
