<< Well no sh!t it's inappropriate for kids, numbnuts. That RATED M FOR MATURE sticker on the box kinda gives that out. >>

lol...was just gonna say that...
i think it's retarded to say it causes violence

when my dad was a kid he would think nothing of going out and killing a deer, bring it back, start skinningit and give it to his mom to fry up for some good eats

I have at least 50% of those games. You should note that out of the 11 games, 7 of them are available on the PS2..

So you all think that these games ARE appropriate for a 6 year old? You've got to be kidding me.

A 12 year I wouldnt care. But any less than that and youre pushing it.

<< Funny

"GTA3 glamorizes antisocial and criminal activity" and is "inappropriate for kids," says David Walsh, head of the National Institute on Media and the Family, a Minnesota-based media watchdog organization. Even though hit movies such as Pulp Fiction also glamorize violence, "with a game, the player is in the role of perpetrator, not observer. That is a different kind of psychological role."
>>

Pulling someone out of their car, beating them with a stick, then taking their car and using it to run over them is antisocial? Wow, Lieberman is a fricking genius. :p

He needs to post these more often. Then I'll know what games to buy. :D

Silent Hill 2 was definatly a good bloody one, have to get GTA3 and MGS2. I'm sure he's telling all the kids the good ones too. Like they're not going to buy them. :p Just a bunch of "Mature" rated games. Do they not see that rating box? Are people blind now?

Heh.. My bogosity meter goes off the scale whenever I hear rhetoric from "watchdog" organizations, or groups with "institute" and "family" both in their titles. Given that the idyllic nuclear family is now a minority in the US, perhaps we should start promoting realism and rational thinking as opposed to pseudo-christian right-wing "family values".

Lieberman can kiss my ass. I wish he read this forum. I'd tell him that in real life too. I have no respect for people that try to tell others what to do.

I've been watching violent Hong Kong action movies (hell yeah. Yes, I'm Chinese so these things are easy to find) since I was 5. Games don't kill people. If some idiot kid wanted to kill someone because a game or song or movie told him to...then he was f**ked up to begin with.

It's the parent's responsiblity to be able to tell if their kids are idiots and decide whether or not they should be playing GTA.

Don't frickin' ruin it for the rest of us.

Lesure Suite Larry anyone?

I bet he would have a hayday with that :D

I hate politicians though... videogmes to avoid ay? Why should they be avoided? because parents are paranoid they will have ill effects on children? If that's the case, why don't we deal with the problem: parents. If parents were to clearly talk with their kids and not let them play games all day, and instead limited their time and made them go outside and do sports and stuff... guess what? That would fix the 'videogames influencing young people' problem better then anything else. True, there will always be crazy kids that try to do things they see in video games in real life, but should we take away video games for everyone just because of a few people? Obviously not. Look at cars. There are plently of people who abuse the right to drive cars, yet they still exist. Videogames shouldn't be banned, parents should just make sure their kids don't sit in front of them for 10 hours a day.

<< I wouldn't want to see his "Recomended List" >>

I saw something on the news about it. All I remember sticking out was Pimpkin and GT3.

I make more money than you ever will by writing. I spell the way I do so that people like you will understand what I am typing. If you do not "get" what I was trying to say, please print out the thread, take it to a third-grader (if anyone in your trailer park made it past third grade), and ask him to explain it to you.

I still don't get how misspelling imagine helps me, the idiot, understand what you, the genius, are typing. I just don't understand how you got started on your "Bush's Lagacy" rant. It simply didn't follow logically from Bush playing CS.

Incidentally, how is the amount of money you make relevant? How do you know how much I make, or what I will? What exactly does that statement prove, other than the fact that you are a self-important elitist?

The point of not allowing little kids to play highly violent or highly sexual games is to prevent them from possibly traumatic experiences that they may not be ready for, mentally and emotionally.

It is already pretty clear that playing violent games does not make people violent. That is not a concern at all.

The kids of a hundred years ago wrestled with one another, shot wild animals, and did many other violent things day-to-day. If those kids turned out fine, ours will too.

Heheh...right. Then you are what's wrong with the American education system. Why would you ever dumb things down for kids? That just conditions them to recognize the wrong spelling as the right one. Geez...I mean, it's already bad enough that kids these days learn to spell by memorizing it instead of doing the sounds.

And how do you know you make more than we do? Hehehe...if you want to prove that...post your annual income.
