Sen. Jim Webb's Aide carries his loaded gun into the Hill

saw it on FOX this afternoon watching Brit Hume. Apparently Webb's aide was carrying in the Senator's gun, loaded, with an extra ammo clip or two. D.C. gun laws do not permit anyone to carry a firearm, though the Sen. has a concealed handgun license in VA. Just pointing out that the aide broke the law, not sure if Webb is involved, though he may have just wanted his gun in his office to threaten his lackeys with it, who knows. My fear is super nut-job liberal staffers who usually get waived through who have more in mind than just bringing a loaded gun to their boss on the Hill, instead want to go postal (like in the case of the attempt on Tom Delay's life).

According to D.C., members of congress can bring weapons with them as long as they are unloaded (show pieces maybe).

I fail to see how "liberal" has anything to do with this.

Ban for trolling.

2nd for multiples with the name john in their nickname.

You're the biggest troll these boards have ever seen so your opinion is of little value. I suggest you join hypocrites anonymous.

I saw an article on this today as well. The aide said that he didn't remember that he had the gun with him. How do you not remember carrying a gun with two extra magazines?

so, does the constitutional right to bear arms only apply to conservatives? Or are you for a ban for super-consertive staffers...

This is stupid, the law applies equally to everyone. It sounds as if you don't want liberals to have guns.

Care to link examples of 'liberal' get waived through, but not Republicans?

Sounds like it's your opinion, not fact.

no, senators and reps generally get waived through (minus the cynthia mckinney scuffle). they can also waive in their staff members and exempt them from searches. this may have been the first time the aide was ever stopped and searched.

i believe in the right to bear arms by the way, it is a constitutional right. but the law in DC is the law (bad law is still law), can't go breaking it now can we? and i guess you can be a conservative nut who sneaks into the capitol too, the most recent one that came to mind was the tom delay incident.

Sounds more like Senator Webb thinks he is above the law. Big surprise there as all politicians these days are utterly useless power grabbers. He has no Constitutional rights to carry a weapon in D.C. as it is currently against the law and he is no exception. I don't care what his political affiliation is he simply broke the law, or should I say used his aide as a proxy because he was too much of a chickenshit himself to try and carry the weapon into the Capitol.

Lackey amnesia syndrome, highly contagious among Washington staffers.

Hah. If Webb was a Republican, you guys would be in full 2nd amendment mode by now. Maybe it's just me, but when it comes to wrongdoing in politics, the ONLY think you and the various johns and all the rest of you right-wingers seem to care about is political affiliation. Now you're certainly in good company on the left, but seriously...

It sounds like you have a guilty consicense about something. Why are you qfraid of "nut-job liberal staffers" more then your regular run-of-the-mill staffers?

This is a troll post, plain and simple. It's the same people over and over creating trolling threads.

Stop it, please. You know what you posted is stupid... so why did you do it?

Frankly I am all for allowing staffers and Congressmen bring in loaded weapons. I also support the idea they can use them to settle debates as well. Maybe then we might get some good Congressmen, or at least good shots, running the place.

Well if good shots were the criteria for good politicians Dick Cheney would have never made it to the White House.
