Sen. Diane Feinsteins husband makes bank

Lifer
Senators husband cashing in on financial crisis

I suppose we all knew why people spend millions to get a job that pays $160,000/year. But I guess the ones that are good at coverning their asses and explaining their way out of crap like this get to stay in office and reap the rewards.

What do Californians think about her since she could end up on the ballot for governer?

One might suggest the mere notion of Congress raising taxes to afford their spending spree is a conflict of interest. Does it not make sense that once this spending spree hit critical mass, and amounted to over $120,000 per household that there would be connections to certain elected officials here and there?

My point being, this entire country is being bought and paid for. How could there NOT be connections back to Congress? Their spouses, relatives, friends, and acquaintances would ALL have to go into retirement not to be impacted one way or another.

This notion of receiving the benefits off the tax payer dime made more sense back when we were a limited government. Now that we are a socialist government, government money is everywhere. How can a person avoid it?

oh noes an apologist!

How would you feel if you worked for a competing company that lost this government contract? The only reason being that government agency you were trying to get a contract with gave it to the senators husband because she could help up their budget by $25billion.

You see nothing wrong with that? You see nothing wrong with the pair buying stock that will then go up because the husbands company was awarded lucrative government contracts?

Yea, well what do you think will actually be done about it? Republicans in power gave lucrative contracts to a select few. Democrats in power are giving lucrative contracts to a select few. Voters don't give a shit unless it's something crazy outrageous.

Before the election all we heard was, "Republicans are corrupt, so vote for Democrats."... now all we hear is, "Democrats are just doing the same thing Republicans did, wat's wrong?". Disgusting.

If it is shown that there was collusion for financial reward I will condemn this.

It is also within the realm of possibility that she had expert knowledge through her husband about a real need for this particular government funding and recommended it for good reason.

I honestly don't know yet.

I'm not a big fan of Dianne Feinstein. She is to the right too far for my taste.

Her background is interesting - I didn't realize how much she pioneered a woman being able to break in to an 'old boy's club' as a San Francisco Supervisor, when it was a very male and sexist culture with many opponents to her for being a woman - and she got in there, and later got elected president of the supervisors, but ran for mayor twice and did not win - but when Mayor Moscone was assassinated, she became the mayor. She built a base from there and later became Senator.

She seems to have Teflon - she has strong policital support but for no clear reason that I know of. I don't think most Californians can name one issue she is strongly identified with.

For whatever reason, she was called 'the only politician who could beat Arnold for Governor' back when he ran.

The first one I think of is her support for the constitutional amendment to outlaw flag burning.

I have concerns about the mixing of the private and public interests, and if there was wrongdoing here, let's find it and oppose it. I haven't looked into this situation yet.

Total gun ban/confiscation, "living wage" union support, socialized medicine, enviro-weenie advocate, anti-nuclear power, anti-iraq war, etc etc.

Damn right-winger, probably gets all her political contributions from Fox News too.

They are probably afraid to mess with her because she has an unrestricted concealed weapons permit.😉

Feinstein is a strong proponent of gun control, yet is known to have carried concealed handguns herself with a normally nearly impossible to obtain California carry permit - few people, other than politicians and celebrities, are able to obtain California CCW permits. At one time, she was the only person in San Francisco to possess a concealed carry permit.

Authoritarian, violent, repressive, evil - he's one of yours. Indeed, Republican poliicies allowed him to gain power. I'm to the left of him, on the side of liberty,m justice, prosperity.

Her successor Gavin Newson has declared. Barring someone better, he has my vote.

If you would have read the article her husband's private investment firm loaded up on more shares about the same time of the contract award. Purchased at $3.77....now at $5.14 due in large part to the government contract. Conflict of interest much? She violated a Senate ethics rule and pleading stupidity/ignorance SHOULDN'T get her off the hook. The ethical rules for Senators/members of the House should be strict so we don't have as many scumbags in Congress.

Lulz. Every single one is just as corrupt as the other.

werd to that.

I just agree with some more than others

I think that is how our political parties have really devolved.
