I don't really see a fundamental problem with thinking that this bill should somehow actually be paid for.
the problem is that benefits, once given by people who are only in power as long as they're popular, can't really be taken away. where does it end, perpetual unemployment benefits?
Why does he take this particular time in history to bolster his conservative ideals? With some of the most hurting people in America? I would have been happier with him if he had tried to stop the war bills, or the "bank bailout" bills, or stimulus bills or other unfunded stuff. Senator Bunning has had many opportunities to make a difference and doing so under these circumstances for this relative chump change shows just what a POS he is IMO.
