sempy 64 vs. A64 benches

Based on the Tom's Hardware CPU chart:
Here's a comparison between a 64bit Sempy Palermo @ 2Ghz vs. Venice 2Ghz:

result is how much faster is Venice compare to Palermo:
3D Studio Max 7: +0.5%
Clone DVD: +0.5%
Doom3 (1024): +11%
Doom3 (1280): + 6%
Farcry: +10%
MP3 encoding: same
Pinnacle Studio: +1.5%
Winrar: +10%
Ogg: +2.5%
UT 2004: +9%
Xvid: +6%

In line with what I see between my Sempron 3100 754 Paris/NF3 250 and A64 3000 939 Venice/VIA K8T890...around 7 to 8% MAX. Both with 1GB RAM at 2.5-3-3-6-1T. And they only charge me $40 for the 3100!

Yes I think the Venice is in duel channel while sempy single channel.

furbali I think the biggest gain for A64 is in gamez which the Sempy can't match as well due to 256K cache. So I am seriously wondering how Opty with 1MB cache will do on gamez. Regular apps don't seem to favor the chip with high L2, at least the benches seem to support this.

Pure garbage. No more than 1 to 2 FPS delta. That's noise. The bottleneck is the GPU.
