sorry if this has been asked before... but,

how does a sempron compare to a xp performance/gaming-wise

for respective numbers
i.e. 2500+ vs 2500+

(only talking socket A here)
 
The sempron's PR system is suppossed to compare then to a celeron, while the xp's is comparing them to a P4, so an xp will beat a sempron with the same pr number.

Celeron M vs Pentium M.... for office applications/websurfing

my brother is looking for a laptop... wants to know differences and whatnot
 
Pentium M(Dothan chip....don't get banias). I believe anything above 1.8ghz Pentium M should do.
Best processor for a mobile person right now.
 
I think a Sempron will slightly outperform the XP just because they are virtually the same chip, but the Sempron has the on chip memory controller like the A64.
