OK i got it clocked runnin 2.5Ghz and stable for 45 min on prime95 with FSB set to 313 and DDR is at 416Mhz only had to up the voltage to 1.55 and it hasnt exceeded 33C it idles around 22C i have the HTT set to 3x and not sure how far i can go with it. I ran memtest with no errors so my memory is stable. I'd just like to say how much i love this motherboard. It rocks!!!!

Thankx to Cbolt for all the help.......and much thanx for this thread being posted and to anandtech for being the coolest forum on the Web.

Hey Its Alive....glad to hear you got your system up and running....You will be much happier with an nf3 board. They overclock much better.....As for your HTT multiplier I'd leave it a 3x. Its already overclocked at that speed. S a matter of fact I tweaked my system today, and by dropping the HTT to 2.5x I got it stable with the FSB@330MHz. My Multiplier is locked @ 8x but I'm stable @ 2.64GHZ.

I have a 2800+ 256k on a DFI 250GB, 2.4ghz@1.5v. Was having trouble with 2 DS sticks, but someone pointed me inn the right direction, and setting it to 2T with slots 1&3 resolved that issue. I can get it to 2.55ghz stable, but the extra speed isn't worth the voltage I have to use, so this is the sweet spot. Had to put the Raptor on SATA 3 as well.

Thats not bad. I was wondering if i should try to bump the multi to 9x and FSB to 295mhz gettin me to 2.655Ghz but i dont know how much voltage increase ill need to get it stable.

Also that will drop my Htt down to 885 and i dunno if the .15GHZ is worth it.

Well i just now realized something on the ram im using. I was originally runnin 1GB i have a 512mb card of Gigaram and 2x 256mb cards one which is an older samsung card and one is a kingston value card so when i set the divider to 133Mhz i had the timings set to auto and the PC would revert it back to 100Mhz cause the 2x 256 cards cant handle the 208mhz speed i had it set to which would essentially drop my ram speed down to 333 speeds. So i took out the 2x 256 cards and the Gigaram is runnin at 208Mhz just fine. Looks like ill have to invest a lil more dough in another one of these 512 cards to get back up to 1GB.

Dropping the HTT really doesn't hurt as long as you're still stable. At least from what I've read and then backed up by testing. I wouldn't recommend going over 1.65Vcore though. again that's a personal choice. Here's a link I found that was helpful on getting the most out of your OC. I didn't go thru all the steps they did, but I found it informative and was able to get another 164MHz playing around with the suggestions in it.

Socket 754 is 800MHz, so 885 is already overclocking it. 1GHz is for socket 939.

Alrighty i went into bios and set the ram to 2T and now i can run ram in slots 1 and 3 at 400mhz so i guess that was the problem. i got it runnin stable at 2.5GHZ at 1.5v with 768Mb of ram @ 208MHZ and i think i like this setup so i guess my work is done. lol
Its been great and thanx for all the help. Next time i dabble around i will know what to look for and maybe the experience will be a lil less frustrating but for now im happy and hope i wont have to upgrade for atleast another few years. :))

Well i did some benchmark tests with 3dmark2001 and initially with my old AthlonXP 2500+ @ 2.2GHz i got a score of 12880 with my radeon 9600xt oc'd to 540/712 but now with the new system i scored 14880 so thats an increase of 2000 points overall but i know thats relatively low but i think most of it has to do with my low end graphics card. So i guess i know what my next upgrade is gonna be in the near future. HeHeHe.....

Well ive ran into another problem......i had the board running with 1x512mb card and 1x256mb ram but i purchased another 512mb card and when i popped it in slots 1 & 3 it wouldnt boot up so i checked bios and it was reverting back to a 200mhz divider. I tried booting with 1 stick and it ran fine but then i downclocked back to stock speeds and set the divider back to 133mhz and put the card in and it still wouldnt boot with both cards. i tried upping vdimm .2v and set to 2T yet it still wont boot and keeps reverting back to 200mhz divider. Then i went searching for info and found that the Gigabyte K8NS Pro has major memory issues when runnin more than 1 card and even some have claimed having problems tryin to run 1GB card. So i am going to take the board back and get the DFI board in hopes of better luck with memory.

I read somewhere that the only 2 boards with the NF3 chipset that allow you to run 2x dual sided ram cards at 200mhz are the chaintech VFN and the DFI Lanparty and being as i dont much trust Chaintech and the parts provider i use is currently sold out of them i will be returning my gigabyte board and goin with DFI. I hope it doesnt present the same memory issues. I have 2x512mb Gigaram cards that are known to clock to 233Mhz and it has Elixer chips so i highly doubt its my ram causing the troubles. This was supposed to be an easy upgrade LOL but i guess the battle is half the fun......:|
