second post I have come across that you have stated with no link

# Product Requirements:
# Operating system
# Rest of system
# Available power outlet

I was all excited until that. There is always a catch.

Yea saw this the other day, probally gonna get one for my dad to update his outdated 350 mhz setup! Nice deal IMO, Its a whole system from what I can tell, unless im just missing something.

Man, that case is ugly... but a very tempting deal none the less. Thanks, OP!

edit: Shipping to PA is $24. Hmm... definitely something to think about.

About average price for parts, and saves you the trouble of hunting everything down.

Similar parts every week price you can find if you look would be about:

$30 Case w/PS (Rosewill)
$100 Motherboard and CPU combo (geeks or outpost/frys)
$20 256 meg mem
$40 refurb 80 gig
$30 CDRW/DVD
$10 Floppy drive
$10 keyboard/speaker/mouse kit

$240 total normal prices give or take $20.

A month ago, I put together a close twin to this deal for $170 after sale prices (only one $20 rebate).

You can get a similar spec PC pre-built @ Fry's for $150 right now. Outpost even has it for $150, you just pay a bit more for shipping.

Don't know about anyone else, but I tend to shy away from Artec drives. Had one a while back in my machine (think it was a free after rebate cd drive from Staples deal, if I remember right), and every time it spun up, it sounded like a jet engine spooling up to afterburners!! Seriously, I've never heard a louder drive in my life, and I've built quite a few systems with my fair share of components from different manufacturers!!

Anyone else have one of these jet powered Artec optical drives???

sempron 2400+, 128MB DDR, 40GB HDD, CD-ROM, Floppy, KB, mouse, ECS MB, onboard audio, video, NIC, bumped the FSB to 200 with no problems.

I got one last time for the kids. Put XP on it, add some RAM and a monitor for the grandparents.

Thanks! Needed a cheap solution for a friend. This will work. I will just upgrade the ram, CD drive and HD.

Yeah, I've picked up several over the last two years when they are on sale for 99.99 at Fry's. I always pick one up because there is always someone I know that seems to need a new computer or an upgrade. All of them are still working great. And you're right, the first thing to do is upgrade the memory to at least 384 MB so the upgrade is as cheap as 20.00.
