Pena w/ the 2 run jack. 4 - 0 now.

Why did Maddon switch Shields and Kazmir?

Shields is gonna be the starter for the WS, so Maddon's giving him more rest. Kazmir's good enough that the Rays don't have to worry about losing this game.

Jesus...those homers are just moonshots by the Rays, well..except for that pesky pole one by Pena but still. The Rays are just killing the ball.

Any doubts now about Maddon's ability to manage? Good lord, there's has been a lot of second guessing about his decision to start Kaz. Many Red Sox trolls on the MLB site were predicting that the Red Sox batters would get hot again thanks because of Kazmir pitching and that they wouldn't be cooled down. Well, it looks like Kazmir is looking more like the ace he is. It was a little rough at the beginning for him, but he got out of it.

Now, I'm not saying this game is over, but will commentators now give Maddon some credit? Nah, waiting for the Philly media and fans to have their turn at trashing the Rays team, coaches, fans, stadium, etc.

Francona brings in Papelbon in the 7th inning with 2 on and Upton hits a double to bring them home. Rays lead 7 - 0. Upton has just been tremendous.

His offense is the motor for this team right now. And his defense has been superb. He's running down nearly every ball hit near him.

Damn Maddon's changing a pitcher every inning.

Update: Ahhhhhhhhh Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit! Sox is only down by 1 now. 7 - 6.

epic meltdown by the Rays pen

Totally uncharacteristic. Grant and Wheeler are better than that, but walks will kill you. I was really hoping for Howell when Papi came to bat. Anyway, moot point now. We need some runs because the bottom of the ninth is going to be hard.
