How recent is that info? I found this from 2016

https://www.thenewamerican.com/usne...-denials-not-prosecuted-appeals-not-processed

In January the FBI made public that they were no longer processing appeals for those wrongfully caught in the government net either because of errors, inaccuracies, confusion over spellings, or for other reasons. In other words, once on the list, forever on the list. It’s bad enough that individuals caught in that net would have had their rights violated without due process of law. It’s worse that once their rights were violated, they would have had to file an appeal to restore those rights: They were guilty until proven innocent. And now those appeals are no longer even being processed.

Once denied banned forever...

As an aside, the doctor says he has purchased many firearms over the last decade with no trouble. He immediately filed an appeal letter online and after multiple tries at trying to reach a live human, got a recording saying FBI was currently evaluating appeals from August 2015, putting them one year and three months behind even looking at his appeal.

“This was unreasonable,” he noted with extreme understatement, “so I created a plan to expedite my appeal. I immediately filled out my appeal online when I received the denial.

This is not encouraging either:
If you lie on the background check the penalty can be 10 years in prison or a $250,000 fine.
If you happen to one of the 0.20 % or less prosecuted. The current system is broken so. We to do it more!
I guess it needs to fail BIGGER.

I see what you are saying but the valid denials are not investigated much less prosecuted.

An what happens when someone that has been denied and should have been prosecuted (or imprisoned for being a fugitive). Then goes and steals a firearm then shoots someone?

I understand what your getting at. And they should be investigated more.
hopefully leading to more prosecutions.

The system needs to be fixed, and existing laws enforced before any new laws are on the books.

You're a GOP/FOX/NRA fanboy, and you don't know who Marion Hammer is, or anything really about the NRA in Florida?

Quelle surprise!

That's a No/No/No on your fanboy gibberish. I do know who Marion Hammer is because people posted her home address and started making death threats against family members. The tolerant progressheviks are really fine people. Just because you come on here uninformed doesn't mean the same for others.

Hammer has been doing her thing since the early 90s, and actually lead the NRA for 3 years as their 1st female President. But now you know who she is, because of Parkland fallout? This is why posters refer to you brandonbullshit, this weak ass sock puppet routine of yours right here. Sounds like you used google, just not for the rifle related points you'd rather not address. That shows an unsurprising lack of confidence in your argument.

Mr. Shaw is a something else. In addition to demonstrating what a sheepdog can do (unarmed at that) his involvement with the aftermath and fund raising is beyond commendable. He is an example to follow, in many ways, and his community is lucky to have him. If it isn't the case already, I hope he gets hired for something impressive that pays handsomely. Bravery and concern for your neighbor like that deserves recognition.
