Office Depot has this drive marked down from $149 and if I remember correctly, it was on clearance. It comes with the Y cable, but will run on most systems with only one USB hooked in - I will try it later on my lappy at home (Compaq 2800T w/ 2Ghz PIV, 5 years old). 2 left at Centerville, Ohio Office Depot.

HUH? Am I missing something? 160GB ext. HD for $109? Shouldn't you be able to get a 500GB for around that price if you look hard enough?

Nevermind, here is the drive nfo:

* Slim, compact & stylish (designed by Pininfarina)
* Ruggedized for travel
* Hi-Speed USB 2.0
* 5400 RPM with 8Mb buffer (cache)
* One-Click? backup software (Windows only)
* No external power required
* Plug n' Play and Hot-Swappable
* Free and unlimited technical support
* 3-Year warranty

Still don't think it's worth it for storage vs. speed vs. cost ratio.

Staples has the WD 160GB Passport for $99.98 plus a $10 rebate. Net $90 + tax. Of course it doesn't have SimpleTech's racy red Pinnafara case but it does have a 3 year warranty ;-)
