Semi-Hot: Free Nights on T-Mobile

This is hot hot hot!!! I just got off the phone with Tmobile customer service (dial 611) and updated my plan. They require you to re-start your contract on the day you add the free nights, but since I just signed up for this service about 3 weeks ago, it doesn't matter to me!!! WOOHOO! Thank you phoenixstar!

Redid my contract, and added T-zones to my samsung s105 phone. Now I can get internet access and pay $45 a month.

Why the hell did my mom get the family plan. She should have gotten 2 single plans for a little more, and get way more minutes.

Because you get unlimited VS to VS (e.g. t-mobile) calls between the members in the family.

Okay speaking of internet access on the Samsung S105 phone, can somebody enlighten me? Isn't it like $2.99 more per month and what's the specifics on that deal? $45 sounds a bit steep with the net .

EDIT: Haha nm I guess going to www.t-mobile.com/tzones might help . In any case, I was wondering if someone with tzones can give me a rough estimate as to how easy/hard it is to use up 1mb in a month? The plan for $9.99 that gives an additional 10mb seems more tempting but I'm just wondering. Also is tzones even worth it for what you get? I mean you can chat on AIM even w.o tzones (which is mainly what I was planning to use it for). Thanks guys .

I'm thinking of getting my gf a phone but the problem is she uses calling cards like crazy and I'm going to be broke sooner or later. Is there any plans that offer a certain amount of anytime minutes and unlimited nights/weekends with free long distance but it will not allow them to go over the anytime minutes? Thanks.

I got the new T-Mobile Sidekick (from Danger) a few weeks ago. I suggest that anyone interested in a phone with internet capabilities (Web, Email, AOL instant messenger) look into this plan. For $40 a month I get free unlimited data for the first year, 1000 weekend minutes, and 200 anytime minutes. The amount of cell phone time sucks, but the unlimited data is worth it. There is more info about the phone at the T-Mobile website or Danger's Website.

Now to boast: I got my phone at CompUSA when they were offering a $100 rebate in addition to the $50 from T-Mobile. But even at $200, this phone is worth it.

I was past the 90 day period so I too had to resign a year contract - which is fine by me. But also take notice:

The overage fee goes from $0.35 to $0.40 a minute

I just called and they said they would add free nights to my current plan ($40/mo for 600 minutes + free weekends) but I had to stay a T Mobile customer for 12 more months. I was already like 3 months into my year contract, so this barely affected me and I said sure. Just gotta stay an extra 3 months longer now. The free calls dont start untill 9 PM, which is sorta late, especially with this DAMN time change, but I think the coolest thing about the plan is free weekends now start at 9PM not midnight Friday!!

For me in the Southeast, free nights have never been available with T-Mobile, so I was pretty happy.

Incidentally, has anybody used the so-called T-Mobile's "handset upgrade option"? I heard of this thing from somewhere.

Amazon's V70 free-after-rebate offers are driving me crazy. I've considered canceling the current plan and go for the new phone, but switching phone numbers is a major hassle.

Anybody have any idea how to get a newer phone as an existing T-Mobile customer, inexpensively? Thanks.

Once you've signed with T-mobile, you're out of luck if you want a new phone. There's an insider chart somewhere that has the discounts for handset upgrades, but it levels off at $100 discount off retail for a 1+ year customer at a $39.99 plan. If you cancel, you have to wait 120 days to re-sign as a new customer and get the massive discounts on new phones.
I tried to get a new phone (I've been with Voicestream/T-mobile since 1999) and the best I could do on a Motorola V60g was $249 (after $100 off "retail"). I have heard that threatening to cancel can get you bigger discounts, but that's definitely YMMV.

i used to work for voicestream (tmobile) and back then if you sign up for a new contract you could get a new handset for really cheap. You had to be a customer for over 1 year though. Call them and ask them about a handset upgrade. Ask them if there is any promtions that you can do if you sign a new contract. it used to be a 3390 for like 33 bucks. but times have changed im sure.

I have never used my whole mb in a month, and I do alot of news article reading and some online gaming. usually in a session where I read 3 or 4 articles, check a movie time, and play a quick game I use about 30,000 bytes. I do that every few days and the most I have used is 600,000 bytes or .6 MB. If you want to do tons of online stuff, then get the 10mb. those options are usually for people who want to use their phone as a modem for their laptop. Hope that helps

I actually quit my service and had my fiancee sign up for me so that I could get a new phone (t68 for $50). Unfortunatly you cannot re-sign back up yourself. The CS rep told me you had to wait 30-60 days before you account would expire. You do get a dumb rebate for a new phone if you are a 1+ year subscriber. They will even pay you back no matter where you buy the phone, but it is so small that it's not worth it.

Has anyone else noticed that the free NIGHTS promotion seems to be gone from T-Mobile's website?!?!

The free nights option make or break T-Mobile for me... If I can get on T-mobile with free nights/weekends, I will change carriers soon. If I can't, then I'll have to get on one of the others that does offer free nights.


OK, i found it listed under the 600 min/mo plan. It's not really easy to spot unless you are reading everything.

Hmmm I'll have to give em a call, I had Voicestream but they got swallowed up by T-Mobil, I've got the 800 minute plan now,hopefully I can get them to add free nights to it, thanks
