I saw that video on the news yesterday. I could have sworn it was captured from both sides of the tracks! What are the chances of two people with video cameras capturing that? 😕

Yeah, two different camera angles. Strange indeed
They were filming the stop for a piece on RR crossing safety. Still pretty suspicious.

1. Buy old trailer
2. Bribe truck driver
3. Film it getting hit by a train
4. Give the film away for free
5. ......
6. Profit

No doubt, I mean talk about being in the right place at the right time? Funny how the semi trailer was 'exactly' in the middle of the tracks, nobody hurt, perfect camera shots from 2x angles?

Yea but to what end?

I saw that on TV. The guy put up two cameras at that spot ON PURPOSE to show how dangerous the intersection is with the lights the way they were. That's why it was captured from two angles.

Did you see how fast that train was going??? I would set them up too...

And this, folks, is why you don't drive around the fvcking guard arms.

That train didn't barely flinched hitting a loaded semi, imagine what it would do to you inside your commuter car.

I'm having trouble imagining that. Can you demonstrate it for me?

that does seem obvious. but jeez there were BLINKING LIGHTS, and for God's sake it's a friggin RAILROAD CROSSING which means that TRAINS CROSS THERE and you shouldn't STOP ON THE FVCKING TRACKS.the guy didn't need to waste a truck and endanger lives to prove his point, which wasn't even worth proving. fvcking loser

The force of a fully-loaded freight train hitting a car is proportional to a car running over a soda can. Train = teh winnar!

I don't think the guy who was recording planted to truck on the tracks.

It would get derailed and crunch up like an aluminum can, leaving a small dent on my Geo Metro?😕

If you look closely, you can see the safety problem. Immediately after the tracks, there is a light. So the truck goes across the tracks with no train in sight, comes upon a red light, and has to stop. Trailer is on tracks, train comes along, and you saw the result.

The truck wasn't planted there. It was just a coincindence. You really think they pulled a truck up, with traffic waiting behind it, and then sat there waiting for the train to come along?

uhhhh maybe he should wait behind the tracks? he's in a semi for god's sake. we got a stoplight here just like that, tracks, a space, then the light. there's a big line on the ground and a sign that says "stop here on red" which is BEHIND the tracks. people still drive over the tracks to get as close to the light as possible. like 10 feet is going to make a huge difference. losers...

it might not have been staged but it was still the truck drivers fault, and the video did nothing to prove a lack of safety. lack of a brain maybe.

The accident would have been much worse if that trailer contained hazardous materials or explosives.

But I guess a driver with that kind of cargo would be much smarter and stop BEFORE the train tracks and proceed to the other side in a safe manner.

ooooh, MC Hammer on a soap commercial... nice

It's nice they had 2 cameras on the crossing at the time heh. The guy can't claim lack of data for his safety analysis for this one.
