Put on a tie and I'd say you're good to go.

from my experience semi-formal means a suit and tie but not a tux.

EDIT: nice shoes, khakis and white button down = casual.

meh, I'd probably do full suit - tie, although I'm pretty sure your definition is correct.

but this is a senior banquet, not some fancy schmancy shindig.

If your overdressed you can always throw the jacket in your car and/or lose the tie.

Always better to be the only one in a Jacket & Tie than the only one not.

IMO, if the word "formal" is ever in there then it usually means it's time to throw on the suit. I often just wear the jacket and forget the tie; it's easy enough to put it on should you need to do so. Then again, it's easier to take it off :)

Semi-formal is suit and tie. Formal is either black tie (tuxedo), white tie (tailcoat), or morning dress (cutaway jacket, ascot, etc.).

Put on a tie and you're good to go.

Bring a backup suit in case you see people wearing suits at the event. In that case, change, and go.

Semi-formal = Tuxedo shirt and jacket with bowtie, and board shorts.

You'll be the hit of the event, trust me.
