I was a student of the 7 period system. 8am-4pm everyday with a 1 hr lunch in the middle.

I liked it. It had variety and I didn't get bored.

The University i attended had the semester system. I think its an adequate amount of time to learn basic theory. How did you UCLA or Rose Hullman students like the quarter system?

My highschool was semesters and block. 4 classes a day, same classes every day, for a semester. Then classes switched.
Well, except for my computer networking program. Two blocks, for a total of 4 semesters. So half my day for all of 2 years. It was actually fun and made the other classes fly by in comparison. :) Had some fun times in that class.

I'm a student at The Ohio State University, and it uses the quarter system.
If it weren't for 3 sets of finals a year, starting late (toward end of September) and ending late (first or second week of June), I'd love them even more. I love how they are only 10 weeks long, and only taking a few classes each quarter is kind of nice because it makes it easier to manage homework. Well... kind of. I'm horrible with procrastination. lol

block through HS, semester through college.

Although, I think I might have enjoyed the quarter system b/c it would allow me to take more of the elective type classes.
