selling plasma

it takes 2 hours to give plasma???

i donate blood about once every 6 months or so...for free (unless you count all the snacks and soda eat and drink afterwords.....and the little foam ball that i always pocket)

I used to donate blood, then I went to europe. I donated every chance I got, they loved my blood. Now they dont want it, says its bad or something.

If your plasma is red they may not want it. Blood is red because of the red cells in it. If blood sits around long enough the cells settle to the bottom leaving a yellowish liquid(about 75-40% of the volume) on top. This is the plasma.

I sold my plasma once and it ruined my day so I decided that it wasn't worth a whole day for $20. I felt really weak and irritable, and I wasn't too confident in the sterility of the procedure. Also, the flow centrifugation process probably ruptures alot of the cells that they pump right back into your vein. The phlebotomists (needle stabbers) aren't always very experienced either I've heard.

I couldn't find anything in S.D. either, but you get about 15 - 20 dollars a pop generally.

Theres a huge difference.

The plasma donated for $ is sold to research companies. Its not for humans.

When I donated plasma(only one time) it took one hour. However if you are properly hydrated it takes 20-30 minutes.

You can still donate plasma. The plasma platelets aren't affected by THC and your blood gets put back into you. When I went I told them that I smoked and they said it was fine.

The way the Plasma place works by me is you go the first time, takes about 3 hours because they have to examine you. I got $20 the first time. You are allowed to donate twice in a 7 day period with at least 24 hours in between donations. If you donate 2 times in 1 week they give you $10 extra your second time, so that's $30. So you can make $50 a week. Every time I donated it took 45-60 mins. No side effects except a little tired right after.

interesting.. I guess I'll keep donating...too bad it hurts like a bitch EVERYTIME. I believe htey had to trough mine out last time because they got so little on account of the machine clogging up. Waste of 2 hours...

Can you still give blood the same month that you have donated plasma? At work, the red cross comes around about every 60 days to get donations. I get 4 hours of paid leave if I donate. They always come on Fridays so I love getting my afternoon off. I won't give that up

yer lucky! when the bloodmobile comes at my work, we get paid time "off" to actually give the blood and eat a little debbie then back to work we go

No, I think you have to wait about 90 days after you give blood until you can give plasma. So you can't do them both at the same time. I could be wrong though.

i used to sell plasma in College, at Bayer Pharmacuticals, they use it to make a lot of medications, among lots of other medical uses. Got $20 a visit, plus an extra $5 if it was your 2nd in a week only took me about 40 minutes, and the chicks there were hot. Funny thing was, they were like, ya no drinking alcohol or strenuous exercise for at least 6 hours after donating, one time I ran to track practice right from there, man i was dizzy. Another time i went with my roomate, we went straight to the carry-out next door and bought a case of beer and started chugging, ahh dorm life.

The people that work there are not exactly the best needle-weilding staff youll ever see, one time they had a "code blue" whatever that means, while working on my arm, all i know is i squirted blood all over the damn place cuz the girl put the needle in all wrong, i didnt get any on me, thank god, but got it all over her and her supervisor, ha ha, they ended up trying on the other arm, and gave me an extra cookie for being a trooper.

Here you have to go twice a week to make it worth doing. If I remember right on the first visit you got $15 and on the second visit withen 7 days you got $35 so you could make $50 a week which aint bad. I use to do it when I wanted to upgrade my computer but couldn't justify spending my hard earned cashiering money .
