I'm trying to understand how the "Subtitle" section works:

http://img89.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ssdm0.jpg

Right now I have one word in it, "Nokia", and it says 50 characters left, so is this like meta tags for searching, and anything related to what I'm trying to sell, add in additional words, followed with a space in between them like this?

cell phones cellphones Nokia cellphones Nokia 5160

So anytime someone types in a word like how I have listed above, I'll fall into this search, and they'll find me under one of these word listings?

And below the "Subtitle" how does the "Add to description" work?

It is only searchable if someone searches with "Search title AND description" on, which nobody does.

You can see here how I put relative info that people would want to know in subtitiles on a few items.

aphex, hmm ok, and keeleysam there is nothing in your link.

Ok so how do I make my item found when someone say, types in the word ---> Nokia, or cellphone?

Put it in your title.

Ok right now this is what I have:

Title:
Nokia 5160 Cell phone

Subtitle:
Nokia

So how should I fix this so when people type in anyone of these examples they'll find me?

Nokia
cellphone
cellphones
cell phone
cell phones

Just throw a (cellphone) in after the title you posted;

I.E. - Nokia 5160 Cell phone (cellphone)

What in parentheses? ( ) ---> Nokia 5160 Cell phone (cellphone)

That's all I need, just the (cellphone)?

What about the Subtitle I have with the word Nokia in it?

Put whatever you want in the subtitle that you think could generate a few extra clicks. Ex. new battery, car charger, like new, etc.

Ok, but how do you do this, just space out each word, or place commas , after everyword?

Also how what about that title as aphex was mentioning?

Sheesh Ebay doesn't tell you much about this stuff. :(

As we said earlier, put it in your Title, not the subtitle.

You do realize that the plural is found by searching the singular form, right?

Search 'cellphone' - you would find things listed as 'cellphones'

Ok so just a title is all you need and don't use a subtitle, correct?

What do you sell, and how successful has it been, and are you doing anything special for people to find you, and get your items sold?

All I did was just list and item, nothing special and a supersize picture for it.

I just put these 4 things up.

Any tips for going about having success on ebay would be greatly appreciated. I really start looking at this as a job now, since I just lost mine.

I sell all the time and never use a subtitle, so I would say it's not that important. As for the interations of "cellphone," I believe (but someone can correct me on this), that if your title says "Cell Phone" and someone searches for "Cellphone," then your auction will still show up.

You need to put in what carrier the Nokia was built for-you can't cross swap different carriers phones.

Most people search for a specific term right? So if my search results pull up several pages I will look down the list for 1) the main link with a description 2) real pics used as gallery image 3) subtitle info 4) shipping charges. I always add a subtitle on my listings and build the cost into my final price. :)
