2) Three Mega Block Ships: (Pre-Built, No Instructions
---1USS Nimitz (1700 Pieces)
---2Wave Breaker 700+ pieces
---3Destroyer 635 Pieces
---4One Other ship, was supposed to be a distroyer but only the hull remains, and a new top was put on it to make it look like a tanker. So another kit with 635 Pieces.
3. Lego Movie Maker, with some sets, directors handbook. (Non pre-built).
4. Two lego trains, almost completly built. Missing very few pieces, probably in the huge lot of other legos.
5. Three Lego Bionicle Sets Similar To This
6. Lego Train Track: 40 Straight Pieces, 60 Curved, 1 Cross, 4 Y's
7. Two Lego Train Speed Controllers
8. ~10 Instruction Booklets, for trains, and lego movie maker sets. One "idea booklet"
9. ~40 Windows/Doors (Total)
10. Starwars, Darth Vader's Tie Fighter/Attacker (Built)

I am planning to sell this all in a huge lot. If you had the money (or any money :D) what would you expect to pay for this? Im tryin to get an idea what' to expect before I put anything on eBay.

I say save em for your kids, you might regret selling them later. I know I'm glad I have mine around still, and I don't have kids yet.

Well, I guess (pkananen). However! I am 18, and keeping these around until I'm around 23-25 would be difficult.

shipping would screw any sort of deal
To Carl, good point. Would selling individually be smarter? Or less profitable?

Legos are expensive
To mugs: yea they are :D

I could have killed my mom when I found out she gave away all my old star wars stuff. That's why I don't throw anythign away any more. I have boxes of stuff like that.

I still have to rescue my GI Joes from my parent's house though. THey are still there somewhere.

I plan to use this money for college, so really, it is an investment of some sort. Keeping them for 7 more years wouldn't be in my ball park i dont think.

Man, don't have kids when you're 23-25. DEFINITELY don't have kids that are old enough to play with Legos by the time you're 23-25.

Question - how much are you HOPING to get for them? And what would you estimate the retail cost of these Legos to be?

I have a huge collection of lego in a nice compartmentalized wooden box the size of a large suitcase. I am talking A LOT of Lego.....and it is all from 1969. My Dutch babysitter when I lived in Holland gave it to me and my brother because he was like one of the family. It may be worth some decent money these days....but it is priceless to me.

I have a fvckload of Legos, most model kits, but some self-designed things. My parents put them under my bed; I fill with dread at the thought of looking under there at them.

Now since you've seen what I have laying around. What would you assume its worth? Also, would it be smarter to sell as a "huge lot" to appeal to the higher dollar? Or individual auctions? (IE Colors? Peices? Blocks/Creations?)

And yes of course I do know that the creations will fall apart, however I will bubble wrap each individually as to keep the pieces from mixing with others.

how much for the Lego Train sets (and tracks)
I know that defeats the purpose of the OP... but I'm interested, and you KNOW you HAVE to seel to AT'ers first right? We have 1st right of refusal. It's the law.

Yes they are EKKC, yes.. they are.

lmao, anyways to Homer, Im still in the price estimation round now. I have no idea what these are worth, and as any seller would, want to maximize his profits. So honestly I dont know yet .

On another note: Some Peices ARE missing. VERY little as it may, but they aren't attached to the creations you see here. Out of the 2% of pieces missing I'd say 1.5% of 2% (75%) of those pieces ARE batched inside the lot of legos', Ive seen a few key peices when packing the bulk of colors in their respected boxes, I just dont have the time to go sifting through the 1000s of legos for 1 piece.

Edit: Yall fighting over these kits? Hehe, eBay would be quite interesting.. hmm, yes.. very interesting to see yall duke it out. :D Anyways, as I said.. Im trying to maximize profits, w/o even knowing this kit's worth.

Complete castle (not the weak ass front gate set) and pirate ship Lego sets were awesome.

I always wanted the pirate ships asa kid.. but now its only just a litttle tempting. But I needa sell these quick b4 college starts. Anyways.. Suggestive tips for selling?

Would it be smart if:

A) Sell everything to appeal to the "Lego Saver" to spend more money on a huge kit opposed to individual kits?
B) Sell everything kit by kit, and the colors of legos in its seperate sale?
C) Sell Each Color Seperatly
D) Sell each type of piece seperatly
E) Sell (Ex: People in one sale, Wheels in another, Flat Parts in another, Train in another, Train speed indicator in another, lego movie maker in another, etc.)
F) Other?

Im sure some of the AT users have expressed interest already, and you must understand that yes, I may have been given offers already, but when I could have 30 people duking it out for the winning bid.. I feel my chances are higher to get just that little bit of extra dough so I can get maybe a new college text book instead of a ripped one. Plus I dont even know what kinda money to expect from any of this anyways, could be a quick 100 or even 400+.. I dont know what to expect.

I had the big pirate ship. That was the biggest set I ever got. I even had the spring loaded cannons, before some puke bag shot his eye out and they took started replacing them with the lame ones that didn't shoot.

I always wanted a train set though. Sh|t, I still kind of do. I gotta get out of this thread.

Nooo dont leave.. !!!!

Hmm.. I wonder what im going to get out of all of this in the end.. I'll have it all up on ebay as a large lot if there are no objections, unless yall think theres more money to be made elsewhere, or by different way of selling these legos.

Its 40+LBS (42-44lbs) of Legos if that helps (w/o boxes, shipping material, wrapping, etc).

I added MORE pictures to my bulk of them.. its the rest of the legos.
Note: Darth Vador's Attack Tie Figher picture not shown, but is assembed with all parts. - Will be added later

Say one had a spoilt son, what would one spend on a bulk of legos such as this?

Since nobody is answering your actual questions, I'll take a stab at it.

New Lego kits usually sell for $0.10 per piece (200 piece kit = $20). I think you should try to get about $0.04 per piece.

When thinking about how to sell, think about how you would have wanted to buy. Would anyone be looking for an ebay auction of tons of brown pieces or 40 lego people?

I think I would pull out the true specialty pieces that someone might want as a set (train tracks). Next, complete any really desirable sets, such as a complete Star Wars model. Then divide the rest evenly into several lots of random parts. If I was looking at lego auctions, I would probably just want to bulk up my collection and would want to buy a bunch of blocks by the pound. Figure out how many legos are in an average pound and go from there.

Good advice?
