he seems a bit akward, but he's coming up to Columbia (just south of Baltimore) from Northern Virigina thru rushhour traffic. Probably a lot of work for a joy ride.

If he wants to drive it, take his wallet, hold it as collateral until the car comes back in one piece.

I think he just has trouble understanding me. I tend to speak quickly (raised in the northeast :) ). So he has me repeat myself and he seems alittle confused.

Use your scanner and scan:
Driver License
Insurance card (make sure its up to date and in his or her name) If they should damage the car or wreck it their insurance should pay for the damages.
Hold the keys to their car till they come back
If at all possible go with them on the test drive.

I have never not gone with someone on a test drive, nor have I test drove without them coming along.

I never do either but you would be surprised with all the cars I bought how many owners just threw me the keys and let me go off. Hence why I thought I should tell him to go ;)
