Well, my friend needs a processor for the machine he is building and offered to buy my OEM XP1600+ for 40$, should I do this and buy a XP2000+ for $75 dollars?? Do you think it will warrant the performance difference? Is it worth it?

My System Specs are:

ECS K7S5A
XP1600+
768mb PC2100 Crucial
Geforce4 MX440
60gb Maxtor 7200 HD

Everything is running default, no o/c'ing in this system. Your opinon please, thx.

if i were you, i would sell it and get the XP2100 b stepping. it would be a big boost, although your mx440 will be holding it back.

i'd go for the 2100+ as opposed to the 2000+, most if not all 2100+ are 'B' core while most 2000+ are 'A' core.

even if you're not o/c'ing, difference in price shouldn't be terrible, and you're set if you get bit by the o/c bug in a month or two!!! :D
