Sell iPhone 4 now to maximize resale value?!

Just wondering with iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 on the horizon, seems like if I don't sell it now, it'll have a massive drop in value.

Tempted by ICS and 720p screen of Nexus Prime....

I think the 4's value may go up at least until the 4s and 5 become jailbreakable.

I could understand the value not changing for that reason, but why would it go up?

No harm putting it up on Craigslist now, see what offers you get. You can hold on actually selling it for as long you want.

Yeah it won't go up unless they find an unlock for the old IP4.
3-4 months ago there was a spike in price for 3GS when they released the unlock for it.
At that point IP4 was not unlockable unless it was still on 1.59 baseband(still is not unlockable).
3GS are still highly popular because all are unlockable.

Rumor has it the dev team has a beta jailbreak for the most recent iOS 4.3.5, but doesn't want to release it until iOs 5 drops since it'll use the same exploit used in iOS 5 and they don't want Apple fixing it. Plus nothing major has been released since I think 4.3 or 4.3.3.

I just sold my ip4 for $400 on 4.3.5 not jailbroken. Ended up picking up the Bionic and switching to Verizon.

I'm picking up iphone 4 on cl at 300 sometimes less all day long, sure there are sellers that still live in denial where they still want 350 or even 400 but oh wells they just sit on them for weeks then ending up with a price drop.
Iphone 4s/5 won't make the price drop overnight since the supply won't meet the demands for the earlier month, it is all a gamble since you don't know how ground breaking the new device will be, if it's a small upgrade the value will hold well, however if it's like ipad 1 to ipad 2 then the values will plumet for the iphone 4. I don't think we are talking a huge drop since most of the time you will sell your phone by pricing it $20 below the moving average.

They go in swings. I got 400 for mine but I see them for 350 all the time. Fyi I had my phone posted for two hours before it sold
