Self defense question

Say your about to a young ghetto-born teenager. The first thing they do is get directly in your face. Why? No clue.

Question is, how would one take advantage of that position. I understand your too close to throw a punch properly. And your close enough to head butt.

My thinking before, was to wait until they inevitably go to take off their shirt. Then strike.


I'm only asking this because it's one of those things I never knew. And it might be handy one day.

if you really need to strike, try elbow, should work well at close distance.

Knee to the groin, elbow to the face, or probably some sort of close joint lock on the wrist or elbow would work.

The whole "in your face" bit is an intimidation tactic. Nothing else, nothing more, nothing but. Head butting, unless you know what you're doing, will disable you as much as your opponent (at least). Also, in a street fight there are no rules. You're in a perfect position to hit the balls. Do so, then proceed to knee the crap out of him when he doubles over. Continue from there.

If not, just hit him as hard as you can with your fists right below the pecs, grab his arm and pullhim back, hammerfist him on the upper side of his neck when he bends over (he will, he'll be struggling for air for a good 10-15), where it meets the skull.

Assess the situation (location, other people, etc), figure out what the person in front wants, talk to him. Don't always assume a fight is definite. I would recommend trying to avoid fighting if possible. You might get lucky, but there's a chance you'll also get hurt even if you are trained. Get out of there quickly if you can.

If he's only inches away, you have elbows and knees and foot stomps. You can also throw him to the ground.

Buy a skateboard, you'll quickly learn to shift around without "losing your center of gravity".
