oh, and I hate stores that check your receipt on the way out.

actually, when you give them your receipt and show them your bag, it's voluntary. you don't have to do it, everyone just thinks you do.

voluntary but only takes 2 seconds

what the hell, it's not illegal to buy cds or games if you're under 21... that's bull sh!t

Last time I was at K Mart there was a guy that was at least 30 years old trying to buy a couple of music cd's , the d@mn register kept prompting someone at K Mart to verify he was at least 18. K Mart is suck !

That's what I don't understand. The concept is nice, but the room for theft is pretty hefty I'm guessing.

They have someone there watching, and most people aren't going to try to get away with anything with someone standing there. The ones who would try it are the ones who would try to walk out with stuff anyway. And the savings in overhead make up for the difference.

this usually doesn't work though, last 2 times i was at a kmart, i watched 2 different women scan about 1/3 of what they were putting into their cart, and the security guy who was standing behind us didn't say a damn thing to her, i could'nt believe it, BOTH TIMES

I love them as well. My local Harris Teeter and Kroger have them as well.

The Harris Teeter in Cary by the Walmart and Blockbuster has them as well.

Which Kmart has them? I normally don't go to Kmart, but might if I could save the time needed to check out at the Walmart.

The local Price Chopper has that too. It's nice but mostly useless for us. We usually shop when it's closed or/and we have more than 15 items.

we have one at HEB. idiots can't figure out how it works, so its often faster to wait for the express cashier rather than the express self check out.

Our Krogers has those.... but you have to go to another register to hand over your signed cc receipt and the monkeys have to key in your produce for you (push a call button and they come over to punch in the special numbers). Might be good for small purchases, but I really don't like the part about finding a register to hand off your receipt to.

The grocery store ones have it so that you can even key in the produce. They even ask you if you have any coupons. Thank god, the power shoppers with 500 coupons are still not using them.
