selectively delete event logs

does anyone know of a tool where you can selectively delete system, security and application logs in windows 2000. I am aware of a tool called winzapper but that only does security logs. thanks.

When you say selectively, do you mean deleting the entries based on the date or something ?

I usually just right click on each of the 3 categories (in the left window) and clear em.

no i mean like select certain logs in either the system or application log in win 2000 and delete them. a single entry is what im talking about.

You may want to look at administrative tools in the control panel. I think you may be able to remove them for there. Am not to sure about it. 🙂

You have to clear the logs and restore from backup although that leaves an entry that says the logs have been restored. M$ does this on purpose to prevent people from deleting single entries. Instead of trying to delete the entry you may want to look at the auditing levels you have set and prevent it from even being written. In the meantime, consider stopping whatever shady stuff you're up to. 😉
