Hi everyone this is Indrashis...
I am going to build a medium budget gamin rig....and I've picked core i3-530(2.93)
I'll be playing most of the games on a 16inch monitor(1366*768)...
I have 3 graphics cards in mind, one is ATI 5670,5750,5770...
I'm confused with these cards also ATI 5670,5750 & 5770.
I'll be playing most of the new games(splintercell conviction, metro 2033,Forgotten sands etc) at 1366*768 resolution....in this resolution will a ATI 5670 1GB GDDR5 card do good?or I'll have to go for the 5750 and 5770's????
At this reslolution will a 5770 or 5750 be utilised fully??
Please advise....

the price difference between a 5750 and 5670 is pretty small so just go with a 5750 1gb if you can find one for around 100 bucks.

Actually here in India prices of ATI 5670,5750 & 5770 are accordingly 135$,178$ & 199$.
As you can see the price difference between 5670 and 5750 is huge here.....But if I am to buy a 5750,I will go for 5770 coz 5770 will give good performance over 5750....
But my quarry is"Isn't an ATI 5670 1GB GDDR5 enough for playing Conviction,COD-MW2,Batman-AA,Metro 2033 high setting at a resolutin 1366*768???"
(NOTE:This is I think quite low resolution as the size of the monitor is 16inch as compared to other bigger size monitors like 19" or 22")
please advice

At just 1366x768, even the cheapest, least powerful card among the choices will be enough.

But for longevity, especially if a bigger monitor arrives in the future, I cast my vote for the 5770.

most games nowadays are heavily shader dependent. While resolution still plays a role in performance, it is less pronounced than 5 years ago for instance.

Resolution is a big factor - the less pixels on the screen, the lesser the volume of operations that need to be done by the card. This is clearly shown by performance graphs even in modern games, such as in the 5670 review of anandtech. From 1920x1200 to 1280x1024, the framerate has nearly doubled, and 1366x768 only has 80 percent of the pixels of 1280x1024. In some of the other games, the difference is not so drastic ("only" 20 fps in some) but still very significant.

If the OP has no plans of upgrading his monitor, playing at 1366x768 will not require a beast of a GPU by any stretch.
