Selecting Text in Word 2007

When I select/highlight words in Word 2007, there is a pop up that acts as a floating toolbar.

For me, this is completely unnecessary and annoying because I end up putting the whole paragraph in center alignment by accident.

Anybody know where the option is to get rid of this "feature?"
