i am going to add a nvidia graphics card. may be gt 610 or 630 (~100+ cuda)

Use of PC:
normal gaming

email: opengl.ms@gmail.com

reason to upgrade:
upgrading RAM and adding graphics card

Please suggest me ANY motherboard for P4!!!

The problem is that any board for that Northwood chip is only going to support AGP, and you are going to have a hard time finding an AGP video card (the ones you listed are pci-e), and well as the RAM (first gen DDR is quite pricey). Not to mention the difficulty in finding a good, used board that is worth the money.

If you are really wanting to upgrade, your best bet would probably be to start a thread in General hardware about a new machine. Tell us how much money you have to work with, and see what they can do for you.

Make sure to tell us what country you are in as well.

Thanks for reply :)

I have planned for below configuration:

Processor:
Intel P4 3.0Gz (using my same old processor)

New Motherboard (going to buy new one)
Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2PT Motherboard OR
Gigabyte GA-G41M Motherboard OR
... as per suggestion on forum

GC (Planned to buy)
ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 Synergy Edition 2 GB

Memory (Planned to buy)
4G DDR3 for new Motherboard.

I want New motherboard which can support new GC, Memory.. also my old P4 processor?

can above configuration be possible to built? (i know it will have some pull down computing power due to P4 processor)

Welcome to the forums.

I'd have agree with ketchup79. Even the absolute cheapest CPUs today (Celeron G460/G465/G470) are going to be minimum twice the performance of any Northwood P4.

Edit;

New Motherboard (going to buy new one)
Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2PT Motherboard OR
Gigabyte GA-G41M Motherboard OR
... as per suggestion on forum

Those will not work as your CPU is socket 478. Those boards use socket 775.

It's been a few years ogl, but the CPU support page in the first board lists the 530, but not your chip, the 3.0E. They are both Prescotts, but I wouldn't necessarily take that to mean they are both supported.

Just don't want to see you wasting your money.

How much do you have to work with?
