Seinfeld is world's richest actor. #2 is someone from Bollywood?!

How is Jerry so rich? He hasn't worked steadily in over 10 years!

When he worked, he was very, very successful. And he's Jewish.

Jewish celebrities are like the polar opposite of rappers and sports stars. Instead of blowing all their money immediately after hitting their peak, they continue to get wealthier for the rest of their lives.

It makes me incredibly happy that Jerry Seinfeld is worth more than Tom Cruise :awe:

I really admire that aspect of their culture. I have several Jewish friends & it's pretty much engrained to manage money well. They were always the best off financially out of everyone I knew (even at similar ages & payscales as the rest of us) because of that, even the kids who had rich parents (because most of them spent their money instead of saving it).

Are you kidding? He bought the world's largest collection of classic Porsches. He has a larger collection than the Porsche museum in Germany!

I am shocked Tyler Perry is in the top ten, much less worth more than Bill Crosby.

the only thing I know him from is his Madea movies.
never knew they were that successful

He's also the Exec. Producer on a number of TV shows. He makes movies for like $5 million and they bank $70-80 million every time due to his loyal following.

He is making far more now than he did when his show was on TV. The other actors on Seinfeld were paid very high salaries in exchange for not accepting residuals. All syndication residuals go to Seinfeld and Larry David That show is probably one of the most expensive shows to syndicate and they collect them all. I would be Jerry is pulling in nearly $100m a year in syndication.

They're not that successful, but the reason he makes so much is that he acts, writes, and produces most all his own movies and shows (he has a few shows in TBS).

Shows and movies can make a lot of money but they're often split between so many people. He gets most everything after paying the inexpensive actors he hires. This adds up fast.

Doesn't compute, his net worth means his movies are successful. Regardless of if he doesn't have to split the money or not. He wouldn't be worth shit if his movies didn't make money.

Shah Rukh Khan is a household name in our family. Anyone remotely familiar with Bollywood should know of him. I don't even watch any Bollywood with my family, but I hear the name come up a lot.

Yes they are successful, if hey weren't, more wouldn't be made. I don't like his Madea movies but they do well with the black audience obviously.

wait.. what?
Seinfeld's co-stars signed off their sydication rights?!

did they not learn from Gilligan's Island?!
they should fire their manager!

and kudos for Seinfeld for suckering his co-stars... laughing all the way to the bank

Well I mean they're not $500m blockbusters. Yeah they're successful for him and successful for the genre. But they're not James Cameron-esque blockbusters.

All 4 cast members were paid equally in the last few seasons in exchange for Seinfeld (the one that actually controlled the series) getting the syndication rights.

I read Elaine, Kramer, and George were also getting $1m per episode, same as Jerry. But Jerry got the syndication because it was his show.
