<< No, but I could easily do more than that with a 150$ pair of rollerblades or a 300$ bike. That'll save even more energy, and I'll be losing weight instead of gaining some.
The technology behind it is nice even though it's not revolutionnary (it's not like it's running on water), but it's basically a wheelchair for lazy people. 😀 >>
Not everyone wants to be sweaty and stanky when they get to work. >>
You don't have to be skating or pedaling like a madman. Rollerblading or riding a bike doesn't make you any more sweaty than walking, and if walking makes you sweaty and stinky, then you have a problem.
<< He said it has ample power for the day.
Anyway sure you can rollerblade around - but there is a great reason why most people don't take scooters/rollerblades/bikes to work: Because it's excercise. Not just do many people hate this but I did it for 4 months straight until a week back. I had to pack my work clothes in a bag and I'd get to work sweaty and put on roughed up clothes. Using any form of excercise as a transportation system is impractical for most people and they are unwilling to do it.

Yeah, but what does a day mean? If a day is going to work 3 miles away, and using it 2 minutes to go eat lunch, then a day=15-20 minutes...
But you just resumed my whole point: people are unwilling to do it because it takes a little effort. Soon people will be using that thing just to get from their couch to the bathroom...
Take China for example. Millions of people ride their bike to work, and for them it's perfectly normal. This Segway thing better get a whole lot cheaper before you can even think of convincing people over there to buy one. Nobody's going to shell out 3000$ to replace their 10$ bike. (well, they couldn't even if they wanted to) I bet if you asked someone riding his bike if he'd buy one, he'd laugh and think "those lazy americans...". 😉
