In offices, restaurants, bars, stores, etc. smokers are segregated. No fucking smoking in the presence of those that don't wish to be exposed to second hand smoke, as it subjects others to a health risk.

Simply apply the same standard to anti-vaxxers, for they also subject others that choose not to be exposed to deadly pathogens.

They are actually a greater threat. Breathing second hand smoke one time is unpleasant, but it won't kill you.
Breathing the air exhaled by an anti-vaxxer with COVID can kill with a single exposure.

Appears the logistics of the problem is that none of the vaccines have yet to be officially FDA approved. However, that FDA approval will happen every soon and I am guessing that things will change in a big way. In a big way being that proof of vaccination will become the law of the land for schools, restaurants, indoor events, large gatherings, employment, all building access, and basically with doing any business at all where people come in contact. So expect FDA approval soon followed by mandated proof of vaccination, especially from employers.

This should make a huge difference by requiring people to show proof of vaccination. And could go as far as a requirement from landlords and linked to continued healthcare coverage. Once a vaccine is officially FDA approved it will be a whole new ballgame. What I worry about is the falsifying of vaccination cards. The cards are only a piece of paper with writing, easily faked and forged. And I do hope that objection for religious reason is not allowed because should religion play into it then we'll see thousands of heathens suddenly finding god as an excuse not to vaccinate.

Just rename Mississippi to MAGA Land. Everyone else can pay an extra $20 per year to make MAGA Land’s Federal Tax Rate close to zero. Pull Medicare & Social Security from MAGA Land residents to off set spending
All the morons will move there thinking it is some utopia.

My adult life straddled the era when public smoking was allowed (and very widespread) and the current era, where it is banned in essentially every public space. Life is far, far better for us nonsmokers now. I can't count the number of expensive restaurant meals I had which were ruined because of other people's smoke. One of the very major quality of life improvements done by our government in at least the last 50 years-rivaled only by (perhaps) the interstate highway system.

And yes, second hand smoke can kill you. I had a college friend who never smoked a day in her life. She caught lung cancer twice, the second time killing her in her thirties. Second hand smoke DOES kill the innocent.

MY bet would be on NC. Have a pack of cigs reached $2 bucks in that state?
I'll take that bet, because NC is more restrictive than many other states as to where you can smoke. Statewide ban for bars and restaurants, uncommon in the south. Only NC and VT have statewide bans for bars and restaurants.

NC is the third-lowest price per pack, but that's still north of $5.

In Oklahoma you can smoke in any bar, and restaurants that have separate HVAC systems and sealed doors.

Old files at work that I have look at sometimes still stink of smoke.

My friend's dad, never smoked a day in his life. He actually wrote and lobbied for the first restaurant/bar smoking ban bill in Oklahoma (which was later over turned by the state supreme court because it included bars). He died of lung cancer at 69.

Hell, I remember going to the doctor as a kid...the doctor smoked during the exam. Same in hospitals...except where oxygen was in use..and airplanes...everyone smoked everywhere...passengers, attendants, flight crew...then came "no smoking areas" divided off by curtains.

Thank god the days of working in a place where the cabinets are yellowed from cigarette smoke are long gone. It was horrible for non-smokers in the old days. I imagine most of the people posting here never had to put up with that crap. What amazed me the most, was that they allowed smoking on subs even before all of this. It was only a couple years before I retired that they completely banned all forms of smoking on the US subs.

My parents each smoked unfiltered Chesterfield Kings at two packs a day throughout my entire childhood. When my father died of lung cancer in 1999 I asked him if I could file a lawsuit on his behalf and try to get some money out of the tobacco companies since that is what was going on at the time. He said sure, but "I smoked on my own, not because they made me". I wasn't shy about telling him he may have been slowly killing me and my siblings when we had to be exposed to that second hand smoke most of our formative years.

Funny thing is some of my siblings still smoke, and did it in front of their kids also. "It didn't hurt me (yet) I think they'll be fine" which is plainly idiotic. They vote Republican also.
