See's Candy Rant: they need to put warning stickers on the nasty ones

We always get a big box See's Candy in the dept around this time of year. Choosing a candy is almost like walking through a minefield in Afghanistan... you either make it through safely with a nut, caramel, or other tasty filling or suffer a horrible fate if you bite into some quasi-fruit flavored bit of ungodly nastiness.

Why does See's insist on putting the gross candy in with the good? Is is some sort of plot (it usually takes two more good pieces of candy to get the bad taste to go away)?

That's why you get a chopstick, poke the bottom of the candy with it to determine if it's good or not. If it's bad, put it back nicely and no one will know. :D

Is it possible that there are a lot of people who prefer types of candy you don't like?

actually it's the same price - they go by pound either way.

Anyways, I really really like the Blueberry Truffles, but I find out that there are a few people that don't. I'm sure some people like the nasty ones too.

It's true. I know of no one who doesn't start violently heaving after biting into one of those screwed up mushy ass fruity chocolates. Blech.

You guys probably don't like fruitcake, either.

:D

Fruitcake rules.
I love good fruitcake but what's nasty is when you go to someone's house and they serve you a piece of store-bought dried up fruitcake. Gag! It's like you're eating dirt.

My friend claims that there are actually only 2 fruitcakes in the country, and they just keep getting passed around every year.

Have you tried Bertie Bott's flavored beans? The fish flavored ones are interesting to say the least...

Heh, i visited the Jelly Belly factory when they had those. They were completely disgusting. Booger was the worst... it was slimy, green and salty just like a real booger (not that I eat them often).

Anyways: the chocolates are now eaten. The department is now fatter... and life returns to normal.
