SIS says she supports AMD Socket AM2
PLUCKY chipset firm Silicon Integrated Systems (SIS) said that it will have a complete line of chipsets which will support AMD's up-and-coming AM2 chips.
It will offer two new chipsets for desktops - the 756 and the 761GX, and four for notebooks including the 761GX and the 760GX.
SIS said AM2 will "fully replace" AMD socket 939 and 754 and will be available in Q2 of this year, supporting DDR2, and dual channel memory.
The 761GX will use Mirage 1 integrated graphics, as will the 761GX. The 760 and the 760GX support Mirage 2. All apart from the 760 have PCI Express X16 support. All support AMD's Hyperscreaming tech, and SIS' own Mutiol 1G. µ
