I am interested in purchasing a tablet, but seems like right now there is too many in the pipelines to make a move. Anyone else feel this way?

I think its always best to wait to see what the iPad offers, this time the iPad3. It usually determines price points for other tablets and levels the playing field for more advance tablets to come.

Take a look at the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4/4S screen. If you could not imaging yourself using the 3GS after seen the iPhone 4/4S screen, you should definitely wait. Everyone is moving to high DPI displays with the iPad 3 and next Samsung Galaxy Tab likely getting them with many more OEMs to follow.

Plus, you'll also likely see some price drops.

I'm not saying wait forever, but it's very rare to get such an obvious leap in a component of a product you'll notice 100% of the time you use the device, the screen.

I agree. The amount of time one has to wait is not that long for these announcements and in my opinion will be worth it even if going previous gen due to possible price drops.

Are these new screens better for reading as well, or mainly for watching video?

Higher resolutions in the same screen size make all images and text sharper, clearer, and usually easier to read.

Have to at least wait until after MWC before making any purchase.

I'd say that text benefits most of all from higher resolutions. Compare iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4, or compare any old Android phone to the Galaxy Nexus/HTC Rezound. Text is so much smoother and easier on the eyes with these high DPI screens.

This

Always wait for the new iPad releases as competition will likely release new stuff or drop prices.

We're in between generations right now. The Transformer Prime is out, but it's the same resolution as last gen (the updated one will come out this year). So yes, if you're in the market for a tablet, best thing is to wait.

I'm also trying to buy a tablet and have been since Xmas, but life got in the way. I'm thinking I might go with a 7" android tablet that is decently reviewed, even if it is a little older. Then I'm going to see what the Ipad 3 has to offer. My wife wants the ipad, and I want a droid device.

Anyone recommend any 7" android devices? How about the Evo View 16GB for $249 shipped?

I am loving my Transformer Prime. Problem with waiting for high-res devices is that the GPU won't be able to keep up. It won't be until 2013 that high-res Android tablets will play games as smooth as my current Prime....
