Hello there!
I've been browsing through these forums for quite a while but it was just a while back I thought I would create a username so I could make some deals to build my next computer.
But not to void the main point. Recently I've been through my share of partying, getting wasted, and doing plenty of other things.. But something has clicked in my head - My life won't get anywhere by continuing these types of things without advancing myself through something I can make a living off of. I've thought about studying vehicular structure and how an engine works, but there's just too much to be learned and honestly I'm not that interested.
So I went back to something I do best the most - spending time on the computer. This may sound like a plea from someone who doesn't have any experience with a computer at all, but don't take it that way. My plan is to study and indulge myself in an activity that will provide experience for my years after high school. What I plan to do is take classes in server management and computer administrative areas, but I'm not quite sure the exact terms for what I'm looking for.
Last year ( sophomore year ) I took Computer Repair and Networking. I went in there with a cocky attitude thinking I knew what there was to know, and boy did this class teach me a lot. The skills I have obtained from this class are too long to type, but you can pretty much guess what you'd learn from such a class.
What I'm searching for is someone to work a long side to learn something that'd be beneficial to my future - basically to set a brick work for my life outside high school. I'm NOT searching for pay of any kind. My work will be voluntary, because all of it will be dealt through online. My type of work I'm searching for is someone who is through high school and in or out of college, and is running some type of business/website/server company/insert company and is willing to take time to teach me the ways of their work and lifestyle.
I'm not the highest paid high school student, but pay for what I learn may be available.
I've had plenty of experience in game server hosting/managing ( CS: Source, CS 1.6 ), but I want to learn from the technical side of all of this. I've also ran a website, basic html skills, and am taking business management classes next year. I'm REALLY interested in server hosting. Trained and can take my A+ degree with some minor work.
What I can offer:
Maturity
Willing to learn new things
Time and dedication
Punctuality ( setting up a schedule would be awesome because I have a weird schedule )
I know this sounds kinda out there, but everyone has to start somewhere and I thought I'd shoot here
There are some good people on these forums, so if you have some suggestions or are interested in possibly taking part in this with me, leave a post or leave a private message.
