And no I don't mean from being drunk. I'm trying to figure out whats wrong with me. I see everything double lately when I wake up, and it lasts for atleast an hour. Heck it was hard for me to even get to off topic because when I'm seeing double I cant tell which mouse cursor is the real one, so I have trouble doing anything. Like right now I see 2 windows that I'm typing this into, one is shifted at an angle and is below the other. If I close one eye I can see fine, so it's like my 2 eyes just won't focus on the same thing together, but are fine one at a time. It deffinetely has me worried, when it did it for the first time 3 days ago I thought I just wasn't feeling well and was sick and maybe that was the cause... but 3 days in a row with the same thing happening tells me it's something more serious I would think.

UPDATE:

Well it has gotten even worse, I can't see pretty much anything without closing one of my eyes. I have been to a eye doctor and he says my eyes are in perfect health as far as he can see. It seems to be a problem with how my eyes work together, they just won't work with each other to see one image. This is probably one of the most iritating things I have been through. The eye doctor want's me to get a MRI, unfortunetely my work messed up and didn't start my inurance at the correct time, and I will have no insurance for atleast 2-3 weeks. Unfortunetely this really can't wait soooo I get to run myself into debt with outrageous medical bills I was lucky at the eye doctor he only chaged me 25% of the normal fee.

Update 2:
Found out my insurance coverage will go back to Nov 1st, so everything will be covered (minus standard copays etc..) so that is a huge weight off my shoulder. It is just kind of a pain since my coverage won't even be in the insurance companies system for atleast a week or so, so anything I have done now I have to have the place call the benefits department of my company to figure out copays deductibles etc... and to confirm I am covered. The doctor I went to see is being extremely helpful and is trying to get together all the insurance info I will need and setup appointments for me and confirm my insurance to them so it won't take even longer.

Yes. See a doctor immediatly.

I by no means want to scare you, but an old neighbour of mine had a brain tumor that caused him to see double all the time. I'm not saying you do, or whatever... I'm just saying that it could very well be very serious. Have it looked at, go to the ER or something.

I'm so used to being Canadian. sick ? go get help. dont pay for a thing... I wish the USA could have that as well. I dont belive anyone should be denied health care if they need it just because they cant afford it.

Good luck man!

Well that is a worry of mine, a growth was found on my brain about 5 years ago when I broke my back, however it was watched for 3 years after that and nothing happened with it, said it was probably just a defect from possibly even bith, however I haven't had the money or had insurance for a while and havent had it checked again in the past 2 years.

I can sympathize with not being able to afford it, but sometimes you have to ask yourself which you can least afford. Sometimes you can't afford not to catch something early.

Binocular diplopia is double vision related to a misalignment of the eyes. The double vision stops if either eye is covered. Any problem that affects one or more of the muscles around the eyeball that control the direction of the gaze can cause binocular diplopia. These are called extraocular muscles. Such problems include:

# Damage to nerves controlling the extraocular muscles ? Nerves can be injured by brain damage caused by infection, multiple sclerosis, stroke, head trauma or a brain tumor, especially a tumor located at the lower back portion of the brain. A tumor growing inside the eye socket or trauma to the eye socket can damage a nerve anywhere along its route to the eye muscles.
# Diabetes ? This disease can lead to the abnormal function of one or more of the nerves that control eye-muscle movements. Sometimes this can occur before the person is aware that he or she has diabetes
# Myasthenia gravis ? A neuromuscular illness that causes the body's muscles to tire easily and become weak. It occurs because the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the places where nerves transmit impulses to muscles, telling the muscles to contract.
# Graves' disease ? This is the most common cause of an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). Some people with Graves' disease develop double vision due to swelling and thickening of the muscles that move the eyes within the eye socket.
# Trauma to the eye muscles ? The muscles of the eye socket can be injured by facial trauma, especially by a fracture of the thin bones of the eye socket.

When To Call A Professional

Call your doctor right away if you have a dramatic change in vision or sudden difficulty seeing clearly.

Well the weird thing is that after about an hour to an hour and a half I can see fine again. It only happens after I wake up, I can see almost fine now.

double vision is caused by a magical belt.
while wearing the belt, you are given all the powers of 80s supergroup, Foreigner.
someone must be wearing the belt and giving you "double vision".

Yeah Foreigner:D

Feeling down n? dirty, feeling kinda mean
I?ve been from one to another extreme
This time I had a good time, ain?t got time to wait
I wanna stick around till I can?t see straight

Fill my eyes with that double vision, no disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, it?s always new to me
My double vision gets the best of me

Never do more than I really need
My mind is racing, but my body?s in the lead
Tonight?s the night, I?m gonna push it to the limit
I live all of my years in a single minute

Fill my eyes with that double vision, no disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, it?s always new to me
My double vision always seems to get the best of me - the best of me, yeah

Ooh, double vision, I need my double vision
It takes me out of my head, takin? me out of my head
I get my double vision, oh, seeing double double
Oh, I have double vision, yeah, I?m getting double vision... (to fade)

doctor time, double vision can be caused by numerous things.

Depending insurance or not they may do a scan of the brain and graph it's functions.....or send you to an eye doctor to see if lens solve it.

Since the eye doctor was not able to fix....I would see you employer and find about the mess up if it was indeed their fault.

MRI and EKG/ECG type stuff have come down in price with the advent of testing centers that are popping up everywhere. Still perhaps a few hundred dollars, but not the thousands they were in the past. You will need to get a perscription to use the facility/have them test you. Talk to you doctor about his recommendations or the nurse in charge over the phone.

You don't want to start treatment before insurance is in place and you don't want to cause yourself a more serious problem by waiting.

Some people do. They're called doctors. See one [or two].

BTW you could always have afforded to see a doctor. Your computer is better than mine. It's called priorities. Mine put health beyond ownership of a computer :)

Thank you Mr. SmartA$$. And just so you know... people's lives change. I used to spend alot on my PC, however I haven't spent anything on it in probably a year. Alot of the whole health insurance issue was because of a job change, I make alot less then I used to, and since that happened I haven't spent any extra money on my PC. Oh and incase you missed it, I did see a doctor and I need to get a MRI. Unfortunetely due to my works mess up with my health insurance I will have to wait atleast a few days to do so. Because right now my coverage isn't even in the insurance companies computers, will take about 2 weeks before it goes in.

Thank you for thoose who said supportive things, I do appreciate it. Nothing is more important then a person's health, and I hope this ends up not being anything extremely major.
