See this fugly case - your opinions or suggestions?

They sell that case at FRY's and somewhere else online... probably directron.com. Don't get it from colorcases... heard some awful stories about them... 🙁
 
368 dollars?!?!?! How fricken rich is your friend??? I can build half a computer (nice comp) with that money. If is that into looks, and has that much money to spend, just tell him to get an Xaser III.
 
Yeah, it's this enermax model. Enermax took the case from some other company too, forgot who but it's listed in Anandtech's Xaser III's review. Enermax is cheaper, but isn't as cool and flashy. I'm guessing if your friend don't mind wasting 350 on an fugly case, he won't mind spending 200 on a nice case.
 
No, RICH is not the correct 4-letter word to describe him - FOOL is more like it. The whole idea of me building the computer was he would save money & get better parts than if he bought branded. He did price out the specs at Gateway/Dell etc & they came to 30-40% higher than the breakdown I gave him. So we went ahead & I've got most of the parts needed. Now he decides to spend half that saving on this case!!!! I was supposed to order it whiles he's out of town for a week, but just couldn't get myself to do so at that price.

Thanks guys for pointing out the manufacturer Enermax. Shall research it later on and see where I can get it cheap. Enermax has this in Tiger Stripes too - Aarghhh!

How can they have such a bad rating at ResellerRatings? Damn...... seems like a horrible company. Over 100 reviews and averaging 3.2??????? Geez.
 
Hmm, well if your fried INSISTS on buying this case, you could get it here for $301.xx shipped. Looks fugly to me to though. 😕

BTW, check out the Kingwin KT-436BK-WM. It's black, has 3 windows and runs at $150. Its the case im currently getting. It looks EXACTLY like the case above, except it's not slanted and it doesn't have wheels..... check it out.
 

Chumpman see the reseller rating for UpgradePC.com. They're 1.88???. I would rather get it from Excaliber PC for $328 + shipping.

It may be top quality Aluminum but looks fugly nonetheless. I wouldn't want to look at it every day. But that is what he wants.

The Kingwin KT-436BK-WM looks nice - I wouldn't mind getting that for myself later on.

id go with the xaserIII by thermaltake it looks nice, cools nice, and cost only 150$ or something like that, sports plenty of cooling and has lots of other nice features, windows are easy to install, just buy a nice case cut the side out with a saws-all and bolt some plexy glass in its place itll look great as long as u dont have parkisons disease while your cutting. Also plexy is easy to install case fans into just use a wholesaw drill bit thats a little under 80 mm, or little under 92mm whichever fan size u want and put them in, i suggest 3 fans in the side, intake right over your cpu fan, Exhaust in the middle, and another intake in the front bottom i run a cheap 50$ case and modified it like this and it keeps my 2000+xp tb thats @ 1921 334 fsb 1.825 vcore at a nice 30c under prime 95 torture test.
 
Ah dnycompbuilder thats right but this guy follows form over function. I'm the one looking at parts / quality/ cooling etc he just wants a cool looking and fast computer. Ultimately it's his money so he decides what it looks like. At least I decide what goes inside.

 

Ok maybe I'm wierd but I kinda dig that case. I like the slanted front on it. I almost bought one but the price is just insane. Also you can't get them with the clear panel without it saying "enermax demo" on the side of it. WTF is up with that?

I picked up a nice black lian-li aluminum with a clear side panel. It was about $200 cheaper and has turned out to be the best case I've ever seen.
 
That case is definitely fugly. If he's going to blow all his money on a case, at least talk him into something better than that!

P.S., this could come in handy if your friend is a Chevy guy 😉
