Security+ Book/Practice Test recommendations?

Not sure if this is the best forum to ask in, but I couldn't see an obvious choice.

Looking to get my Security + certification and was wondering what books you all would recommend. I'd like it to come with some decent preparatory exams, CBTs, etc.

Reimbursable by employer so cost isn't a huge concern. Thanks.

If my boss was going to pay for me to get Security+ certified, I can think of 2 things I would want.

I would want the CBT Nuggets - Link

And I would want this kit for the books - Link

Plus you can save some money on the exam itself - Link

Thanks!

The book kit will fly, not sure about the videos. They say that:

This series maps to the 2007 version of the Security+ exam objectives. This exam will continue to be available through July 2009

I guess they are in the process of updating the curriculum. If the videos would be good for a few years, I think I could talk TPTB into buying $200 worth of training videos.

But I will definitely look into the books. Thanks again.

I think CompTIA just changed the Security+ test around Sep/Oct.

I took mine in the middle of September. I studied for three days using Pass4Sure CBTs. I went through them a few times at home and work, then took the test and only missed three.

I had to take this a few years ago but I already had the CISSP for a few years prior. Employer paid for it but I just went and took the test without any extra studying and passed. If your looking at CISSP at some point it might not hurt to starting looking at that material now too.

You probably took the 2007 exam (SY0-101) - 2007 Objectives.
- Available until April 2009 according to CompTIA's website.

The new 2008 exam is (SY0-201) - 2008 Objectives.
- Became available October 14, 2008

What is a "passing score" for this test? I have some generic sample tests that give % correct, not based on "900" scores or similar things I've seen as real scores from Security+.
