On my home test servers, both of my servers are running Server 2008 standard edition, one is running exchange 2007 with the edge transport, and the other one is running exchange 2007 with hub, mail and client roles. Anyways my questions is, does anyone know of any good guides to securing exchange 2007 edge transport server on server 2008? I found a good guide for exchange 2007 edge on server 2003 Securing Exchange 2007 Edge Transport Servers. I tried using that guide, they are using the server 2003 security configuration wizards. The screen shots and instructions they have in the guide, they don't match to well with the server 2008 security configuration wizard.

I think you may get more of a response in the networking section, we'll give it a shot there for a day or two- moved from Security------ >Networking, Oakenfold PCG & Security Moderator

thanks jackmds,

in the guide i posted in my op. in there guide figure, 6, 7 and 8 where they talk about configuring port 25, 50389, and 50636 to go over the internal interface instead of going back out on the external interface and through the firewall to get to the internal lan. I didnt find any configurations options like that when I was setting up the security configuration wizard on my 2008 /exchange 2007 edge server.
