I've got an application for a job that pays $1,450/week.

With no taxes withheld, (I'd be technically classified as self-employed) I'd have to save a whopping 40% of each paycheck to pay the tax load for the year. Ouch. But atleats that leaves me grossing over $40,000 per year.

Oh, that's right, I already told you didn't I, Viper. Well, crap. I guess that's what 11hours of VisualBasic coding in one day will do to you. I have three hours today that I'm going to be working on the final project for today, but I doubt I'll finish it. Sh!t, man, this stuff's not easy when the teacher makes it a damn guessing game. I know he's prodding us to think, but he's taking it to his level. None of us are there yet. I spent an hour on the phone talking to him personally about something. I asked him one simple question and one complex question. He danced around the answers for both, then went off on this rabbit trail about being in the Navy. Jerk.

Doesn't matter who you voted for. You won't see anything other than a few insignificant changes in taxes (like, maybe, some minor changes to the so-called marriage penalty).
 
While I won't give the specifics of what his job might entail, I will say that if he makes $75K a year at it I'll feel like a goddamned idiot.

Of course he's yet to see a penny of that $75K, so until that happens I'll be forever skeptical.

technically, Viper, one would need to begin working before one gets paid, correct? The application takes about a month to process. I haven't sent it in, yet. Case in point.

aw, I'm probably the one being stupid here.


Anyway, hundreds of thousands of people request information from the United States government each year about the money that they provide for people to go to college, start their own business, etc. The government gives out millions to people who get the right forms in. If you've gone to college, have you ever heard of the FAFSA? That's just one example.

The US gov. employs a company (atleast this one, maybe more) to get information to people (who request it) on how to get the government's money. Since the companies don't have nearly enough people working for them to get the amount of information out that is needed, they hire people to work from home. That's where I come in.

I'll be folding pamphlets and stuffing them into envelopes each week. They're prestamped and already addressed. I've been told it takes anywhere from 3 to 6 hours per week to stuff the 725. It sounded like alot to me until I realized that when I was working at Intel I was doing the exact same thing, only with invoices that didn't get faxed out the night before.

Overall, I'm looking forward to listening to music, watching TV, and pondering my bellybutton as if it were a mystical object while stuffing the things. 🙂

Maybe I'm misreading but I know there were scams around awhile ago where they tell you that you get x dollars for each envolope you stuff or something like that. What they didn't tell you is that you need to advertise to get the orders in the first place, basically doing all the selling for them and taking a relatively small cut of it, of course I might be wrong but be sure to read all the very fine print.

I did. That was addressed. I don't have to advertise, I don't have to sell, I don't get paid on commission from any of the money involved with the people who'll get the pamphlets. I don't remember it all, but I've got the &quot;fine print&quot; at home.

Yeah I would love for it to be real, I'd trade a few hrs a week for that but like I said I would keep a close eye on all of it.
