I'm not really surprised at all. This news basically corroborates what I've observed already in the last 20+ years, between my current community and the one I had to interact with on account of my mother being heavily involved with her church. Kids not indoctrinated with dogma and mythology don't end up having dogma and mythology adversely affect key elements in their lives later on.
Just for fun, compare the number of people in prison who identify as religious with the number of those who are secular humanists or atheists. Seems the ratios should be reversed if the family values and onward christian soldier types are right, no?
